  1. Nice! Can’t wait to see your progress.
  2. Bone cutter works just fine. Nip it off by the branch and avoid cutting too close to the head. Alternatively if you can remove the whole colony, dremel can do the job too.
  3. BW doing good so far. Turned out the rainbow bta next to it got stressed out and split into 2. So IMO the intro of the BW does have something to do with it. The BTA are massive this morning
  4. Have you look into Ai nero or jebao slw? Nero has issue with the back cage that sucked fish in and killed or injured the fish. The jebao slw is the copy but has better back cage. I believed new Nero come with the protection cage. I am using a slw-20 in the last 6 months and so far so good.
  5. Just pull the bait out quickly if the other fish went for it.
  6. Fish it out! get a small fish hook and cut off the barb on the hook to reduce damage to the fish. Successful removed several damsels and tomato clowns.
  7. Hmm! Coincident or anemones warfare? the huge rainbow bta that was next to the black widow yesterday is now partially deflated and hidden.
  8. took a chance and move the blk widow nem from frag tank to the nems tank. I read that some nems don't mix well. Had green bta and acid rain bta in there before and they all shrink and vanished. hope this little guy make it in here.
  9. New Year update: Not much has change since last update except for devil blue damsel. It had kicked the bucket after 10+ years. Was one of my original fish when I started the hobby. Also, my red monti stop growing and fall off the back wall. Other than those, the heliopora took over and killed other corals in it's path. I had to manually cut a bunch out and discarded.
  10. Here is mine. Mixed videos of reef, pond and backyard. https://youtube.com/channel/UCE3zACx1X9VDmgJZ9QkOTjw
  11. I recalled someone ask this same question years ago. Personally, I think it’s not a good idea. 2 issues that came to mind. 1) If pump died or power went out, you will likely flood the display tank. 2) if the drain line clogged, then you will flood the sump. it’s doable, but will most likely beat the purpose of having a nice display tank. Unless you preferred to have a display tank with low water level line in order to accommodate the water from the sump if power went out or pump died.
  12. Thanks! That the JB you gave me. I think I saw a baby the other day. Not sure if it’s a baby jb or just a regular shroom.
  13. hd and lowes has drawers of special misc of plastic bolt/nuts. take your float valve with you to ensure right fitting.
  14. random tank photos
  15. I am no expert, but aiptasia and vermetidae snails are natural species in the wild. We only called them pest because they can multiply quickly in our tank and we simply don’t want it in our tank. In the wild, they are naturally kept in check by other fish/animals that eat them. In the reef tank, there is nothing to keep then in check and therefore they are free to reproduce quickly.

  17. Thanks, ? Any sps in my tank will eventually have green base. It’s definitely neither one. I got it from another member that left the hobby and 99% certain that it was purchased here on WAMAS.
  18. Anyone?
  19. Hi All, Any idea what's the name of this acro? Thanks
  20. They are turning my house upside down! I am sure there are other that still have their tank running and not being active on WAMAS. Anyway, it's coming up on its 6th years being upgraded/moved. Would love to keep it another 9-10 years before the next upgrade.
  21. Updated: Tanks still running but not perfect. Had a small leak (about 1 soaked paper towel per day) on the emergency drain by the bulkhead . I was so busy that I have to change paper towel everyday for 3 weeks and finally got around and fixed it last week.
