I spoke with ghl and they said that a single light would cover upto 36x36...so I can get away with 1 light instead of 2 with the gen3s it also uses neutral whites which more I am reading seems to be beneficial compared to the cool whites lot of good reviews on the pacific suns and mitras ...over the radions ...so just looking around at my options before I go an upgrade to g3

anyone here use ghl mitras or pacific sun leds I am getting that yearly itch to make a change and am looking at something else other than upgrading my radion to g3's I wanted feedback on these leds from users who have them

i also worked on another rock and made it shaped as an overhang and 3-4 tunnels laterally and vertically...hard to see but the entire shadow is a overhang ..i am moving around things to allow better views of all this...so ill post with updates soon

sry was traveling for a bit ...and been redoing a bunch of things since i got back i started working on the rocks yesterday i wanted to get the ceramic rocks and was bummed out that the GB didn't happen...so i wanted to work with what i had... turns out BRS had videos with aquascaping for the pukani rock and I went ahead and took a couple large rocks and after getting the side i wanted as the bottom, i hacksawed it to make flat feet i also worked for a couple hours chiseling away at sections to make caves and tunnels ...here is a pic of the rock after it was worked on...i am not able to capture the tunnels...but there are at least 8 of them...i could have made one big opening just as easily but i figured this way the fish can explore and they do! i am going to take some better pics tomorrow but i am very happy with this...

i did the sump/qt trick for a flame wrasse...they probably have short term memory ...cuz now they hang out like best buds

i have a very quiet return pump, the label said max flo 1500 but every time i looked online for it i couldn't find the right one. ive had a few people ask which pump it was because it is dead quiet. this past weekend i did some more searching for it so i could keep a backup pump at hand here are details max flo 1500 (msx fx 1500) http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catalog?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&category_id=7&product_id=7 the ATB FLOWSTAR 1500 is built of the same model as these.. i have only cleaned mine once in the last 3 years and it is very very quiet i dug in some more and found a more inexpensive version of the same pump http://www.thewatergardener.com/products/laguna-max-flo-1500-solids-handling-pump-pt344?utm_source=googlepla&utm_medium=cpc is the same pump inside...when you take out the protective cover in the above pic..all you would need is the base bracket to support it if needed. just wanted to share this info out there incase anyone wanted a good reliable and quiet pump

it could be the impeller... when u turn it on ..do you hear a hum sound close to the motor if u do then its likely just the impeller open up the single screw and then use the soft side handle of a vice grip to rotate the impeller cover counter clockwise.. the impeller come of easily after that i had an older psk1000 with a swollen impeller...replaced that and works like a champ i also keep a backup psk1000 at all times.

yesterday when the lights were getting close to shutting down and all blue i also noticed that it appeared it had whitish patches in some parts...the patches were not visible with the white lights...only visible under blue lights. today its all gone regardless of what light i see it under ...no dots, no patches...still eating and behaving normal... Only thing i did was turn on my UV (doubt that did anything) and fed it a lot of nori...which i hadn't been doing (was feeding it pellets and mysis) so I've also ordered some red seaweed to supplement its diet

got back home and checked again...so i dont see most of them maybe 1...but when it reflects the light almost perpendicular to his body i can see marks where the dots were...its really hard to see and when he is swimming normally...i cannot see anything unless i really glare in... still eating...no rubbing and normal breathing and perching of rocks like all is good. all other fish appear ok too... don't know why i can see markings when the light shines against the body...perhaps...the sand particles caught between the coat scarred a little and now that they have fallen it will heal and go away in a day or so...or if it was ich then when the parasite falls of to reproduce it leaves marks behind...idk...i bumped my temp up a little...to 80.5 to 81 (was at 80 to 80.5) will continue to monitor ..

breathing normal... still pigging out and eating...I will observe and update

I did a water change yesterday with agitating my sand bed (quite a bit) and my tank was cloudy and sand particles floating for a few hours anyways I was feeding my fish later in the day and noticed that my Purple tang had quite a few white spots on it... its eating , no color loss, no scratching I gave it a night and checked again it still has the spots this morning...but I see no signs of scratching...and its swimming normally could it just be the sand particles ...how long before they fall off on their own... i've had the PT a month now...last new fish added was a flame wrasse a week ago... all other fish are swimming around normally and eating fine

did a firmware update and it worked with this code.. i tested the 1439.44 and that came back with and error msg...so gonna stick with this 719.52 and double dose...thanks !!!!

from neptune support Thank you for your enquiry. The maximum OSC period is 999:99. Beyond this it will not accept your programming. This bug has been fixed in our current beta production firmware so that it will not even accept this programming. It should be open availability soon.

gotcha...tried it its goes back to 000:00 again...i think its a bug with fusion ..ill try a firmware update and see if that fixes it...i like the double doze too ..was gonna go that way eventually thx!

everytime i type it...it resets back to this OSC 000:00/000:00/000:00 Then OFF any idea why...or an alternative program>
