i got my mandarin from David (coral hind) and it ate pellets all at the time....however in my tank all my greedy fish don't even let the pellets reach the bottom...so i doubt he gets any....have had now for 2 some years...very active and out all the time
so its been little over a week since I've had mine going and i see a brown layer around the top 25% part of my neck...should it be clean or there can be a light layer ..
also the top of the wiper is collecting a good amount of gunk
which way should the wiper face when running...im trying to set it to drag since its flexible to get more contact...but it doesn't get a clean sweep everywhere
i haven't cleaned mine ..been 6 months now..still looks like its pushing water fine...maybe i should clean it...
my pe is good on coral so i didn't bother doing any more...i do take a turkey baster to it every so often
so i drilled...didn't go masonry bit...tried a regular bit...it broke inside lol....chiseled it out...reglued...then drilled with the broken bit and it worked
made a piece that looks like a reindeer with very long antlers...
and i shuffled around my aquascape ...again!
8 acros... Tdf, pearlberry, pink lemonade and limeade , red dragon, shock tart, tsunami and needle in a haystack ... I do plan on takin pics

i noticed my flow starting to reduce in the reactor...it was the sponge on the top of it that starts to clog reducing flow...
so i am thinking of remove the sponge...and then attaching a filter sock at the end of the pipe leading to the skimmer side..this way i can easily remove anything large that goes through and i don't limit my flow at all...
its also easy to clean the pipe/filter sock ...than opening the reactor and cleaning the foam pad
still nothing happening with the pellets...just being patient with it...don't expect anything until maybe 2 weeks later
what is the circumference of the motor housing on the swabbie ?
I have placed my order through ERC and wanted to make a hole wide enough on my lift up wooden lid where the skimmer is to allow the motor housing to come out.
I also noticed on the site that there is a swabbie conversion kit available. I am guessing this isn't needed on new orders since they would already have an upgraded motor. Are these new housings black in color ?
Hi ...I need a swabbie for an ATB 840v2
it measures 7" across the outer part of the top lid which is A on your site.
some websites said go 8" but i was confused whats needed for me
I added couple vials of prodibio directly through the media port , turned off skimmer, uv for a day ...
so far they are just churning nothing happing yet...I think it will be 2 weeks or so before anything starts to happen
i took the reactor FR-45 outlet and instead of dropping it over with the fixed PVC they had into the sump...i ran flexible pvc pipe (black) to the skimmer pump ...which you can see in the 2nd pic ..its at the bottom of the sump...black PVC pipe from reactor outlet goes to elbow connected to T -PVC which has the straight end direct to the skimmer pump and one end open for normal sump water to enter
my return pump feeds the reactor itself..which is the 2nd pic big blue knob ...i adjusted it so they are all moving and not having mayhem in there
uhhh wish i read this before i soaked them overnight and threw in...maybe ill do this for few of them when i add next time?
i do dose with prodibio...so should i just dump prodibio in the media outlet next time ?
unboxed , the fr-45 was larger than i thought, well made...plumbed everything in and connected directly to skimmer
took roughly 200ml of the biopellets..gonna go slow this time...and soaked in ro water..
ill add them in tomorrow...
