  1. Traveling now. 15 minutes til they get to where they're going, so around 630 we might see some cool things. I think they're going to check out what may be a mud volcano?
  2. http://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-are-streaming-a-live-video-feed-of-the-mariana-trench-now Love watching the NOAA live feeds, and now they're in the deepest place on Earth. Enjoy! Edit:This is their own link with the other camera feeds http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/okeanos/media/exstream/exstream_03.html
  3. I've been having great luck with Caulerpa serrulata. It's a pretty macro that's easy to take care of, but I don't use it specifically for exporting nutrients so much as pod space (though it's not bad for that either). If you like the chaeto ball, there was a thread awhile back on the DIY chaeto bucket system that looks really cool. Found here Best way for starting a fuge? Get a handful of macro/pods from someone here on Wamas, then poor a glass and relax.
  4. Do you mean as far as macro or pods or?
  5. Nelson has pretty eyes... And really, you can't prove he's not Batman, have you ever seen them in a room together?
  6. Can't speak on rock nems, but I have rbtas at home and maxi minis at work. Heliopora is a great coral to put next to any anemone. Doesn't get stung and isn't as affected from the shade of a bubble tip. I've had certain zoas/palys be fine, and others completely decimated from anemone stings.
  7. I'm with overklok on this one. As long as your parameters are close... The only major thing would be going to higher salinity, that's a no-go. A lot of LFS do keep their salinity a little lower, helps with stress and all that, but can make it difficult to transition at home. I usually keep my QT a little lower just bc of this. Make sure you always test what's in the bag. Glad to see he made it!
  8. Haha very true! Too many other things on the to-do list. I haven't even kept up with the thread at all! Well here's this as a peace offering: Happy first tank birthday from the clowns!
  9. Lol I never got around to it. Maybe someday I just have a bunch of scrap pieces from Lowes lying around, pretty thin and bendable.
  10. Very cool. One of the early coral specimens retrieved by the researchers (Patricia Yager) That caption tho
  11. 1)Readily available live food thats close to his natural prey, you can "gutload" them before feeding to make them a little more nutritious. 2)Stockholm syndrome. Frozen krill's an okay starter food, but don't feed that long term. Make sure you give him a varied diet.
  12. +1 It wont take long, but he needs to associate you as the "bringer of ghost shrimp" then as the "whatever this guy brings me is delicious". Try some LRS chunky blend (great variety of foods for a hungry little lion) after he's doing good on ghost shrimp for a week or two. It's too good to resist!
  13. You've run out of room everywhere else haven't you? That's so cool!
  14. I've seen peppermints do some damage to acans, wouldn't put it past them to go after other corals. Ofc there are several species that are included in the peppermint category. Not even including camel shrimp.
  15. Glue just exploded all over me at work.... So much for seachem :/
  16. I use Seachem reef glue, because the tube is so much easier to squeeze than the others, like two little fishes. I've been happy with it so far, especially once I found out the glue/epoxy/glue sandwich.
  17. All completely normal. The coris will fix his schedule soon, but it will probably match the potters unfortunately. You can change your light schedule so they have more awake time while you're home; but they are very much early to bed, late to rise. How long have you had the dottyback? He might get more confident as he gets older and they've all been used to each other for awhile.
  18. I've always kept coral beauties with my tangs, and they've never so much as looked at each other. But zygote2k's right; with enough space, you can do anything. In a 90... I still wouldn't think there'd be much of an issue lasting more than a day or so of tail slapping/chasing the new addition. YMMV
  19. +1 on the Avast CS3! I wish it had been out when I had my big system; I was pretty disappointed with my Reef Octopus, and I could never get it dialed in right.
