  1. I love staring at a tank for weeks or months, thinking there's absolutely no way to add anything else. Then all of a sudden, on day you come up with a crazy idea and bam! More room! It's like the laws of physics just changed in the water lol
  2. I haven't done any video, but my last round of photos was with the blue chanel turned off and 100% on the white channel - it seemed to help a lot and I managed to get some real colors rather than the washed out blue-gray looking ones I did before.
  3. April 2013 Beginning of November 2013 Middle of November 2013 My red cyano is virtually gone at this point - will have to get an updated shot for the end of November too.
  4. You lost me at acrylic... But I know I'm way too lazy and absent minded for acrylic
  5. 500 ml = ~2.1 cups. That should be a little easier to measure. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
  6. #3 is what I like. I might try to spin the lower rock on the left a little to make a small tunnel/overhang. All of it looks good though. You'll never be able to replicate it anyway! lol And that's probably a good thing. I bet you end up with something you like even better when you go to do it "for real"
  7. Thanks again Justin - I'm back up and running already!!
  8. I went with 2 pairs of IT2040's over my 4x3 footprint tank. I know others with a standard 120 have gone with a pair of the IT2040's. Following that trend I'd go with 3 units over you tank. I haven't noticed any shadowing in my system.
  9. I *think* I know what one you're talking about. I'm not sure if I even have a piece in my tank yet lol. My Dad had a major bleaching event in the frag tank - the lights ended up being on for several days in a row so everything in there is nice and white. Well it was as of last week. Anyway, we'll figure out which one it is and will definitely get you a piece of if!
  10. I'll have to get some shots of his tank - we still have some of everything we had then so should still be there! Dad's memory is better than mine Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
  11. I'm not sure what that one might be Paul. it might be something in my Dad's tank. I got two of those torts from you and gave the other to my Dad. He's had a little stn from the bottom, but seems to be hanging in there still. I have mine at about the highest point in the tank. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
  12. Do what I did - get the tank in the house while she's away on vacation!
  13. Wow, great video! He's really going to town on that grouper.
  14. Hehe. Good deal! My tank is in a corner - walls along the back and the left side of the tank. So, I just left the left panel off. Makes it much easier to get something that drops on that side. And somehow I manage to drop things way too often lol
  15. Very kind of you Justin, thanks so much!!
  16. I thought you were supposed to be able to lift them up and kinda scoot the hole panel in? It looks like you insert the top, then slide in the bottom, then the bottoms settles in and the top is still held in. Mine will *almost* do that, just need to take a little material off of the upper inside of the stand and it'll work just fine. I haven't had my panels in at all since it was installed as there's a wall behind the tank - like most folks I'd assume. Fixing the panel is just yet another project that needs to get completed!
  17. I posted a picture of mine in my build thread last night - it's been in there since last winter sometime. Got him from Quantum Reefs. He eats just about anything that gets tossed in the tank, including picking at nori.
  18. That's good to hear! Glad it looks like a glue type fix. I sure could use some glue - I have nothing that would be appropriate. Unless superglue gel is the right stuff
  19. I've seen talk that it'll stay yellow under high light and low phosphates and tends to turn green when those two aren't met. The pics I've seen when it turns green are pretty amazing still. However, I have no direct experience with this one yet.
  20. Awesome idea - I'll definitely be finding a way to do this in my system. I have a piece of light smoke color acrylic that I could use as a diffuser too. I knew I kept that acrylic for a reason! It was the front screen of an old rear projection tv that I disassembled when it was past it's expiration date
  21. Just gravity! They have enough weight to them that they don't move around unless you're really doing something crazy. And if I get that silly with things, I'm either taking the lights down or raising them up out of the way. Thanks! I was super excited to get them.
  22. Thanks Cliff. The clowns are Black Ice. I just thought they looked kinda cool
  23. Thanks Isaac. There's really only one Mystery Wrasse in there - he was just being a good photo subject
  24. Here's what it looks like - I think pretty clean.
