  1. I use paint.net for most of my editing chores. I'm not really doing much though. This is a free program btw.
  2. I think my next camera is going to be a mirrorless camera. I've been eyeing the Fuji E-X2 for a while and thinking about letting my Canon gear go. I haven't put them in my hands yet but one of the advantages is they seem to be smaller than a traditional SLR setup.
  3. Amazing, as always. (Looking great! I just had to add the same as the previous two posts lol - can't wait to see all the new additions too!)
  4. On the back of the glass is what I was thinking for my system - keep the MP40's on the sides and a Maxspect on the back glass... nothing is safe!
  5. I don't remember what happens when it gets too big - I think it just gets louder. If the hole does get too big, you can make it smaller - I just stuck a piece of tape over some of a hole in one can I drilled too much of. Or worst case, just buy another cap.
  6. Good luck Barry. Hope everything goes well for you!
  7. Oh yeah, tubing. I forgot about that part. Not really sure what to do there. Maybe someone else can chime in. If not, a trip to Quantum Reefs would probably get that problem solved. Good luck! Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
  8. If you do it, make sure you put a coupling on the drain higher than your sand. For me, I think it'd be way more trouble than it's worth.
  9. Stick a valve on the output of your pump and try dialing it back a little bit. See if that makes a difference - at least that'll tell you something almost immediately.
  10. Can you change your current drain setup to a durso? If you take off the screen and put on a 90, facing down, and drill a small hole in the cap you should eliminate much of the sacking sound that's coming from the screen (I didn't have sound when I watched the video, just assuming). It also looks like you could afford to reduce the flow. Also, how deep is the drain line in the sump? It looks like you might be able to shorten than as well. Or maybe add a bend in the tubing first for testing purposes before cutting. Good luck
  11. Although I do think that zoa carpet would look mighty cool! Although it may get loaded up with detritus as well. YIn yang sounds fun too. I'd never have the patients for it though hha
  12. I love sand, and sand sleeping wrasses, too much to ever consider going bare bottom. I know it's got to be great for keeping detritus out, but it just doesn't look like a part of the reef, to me.
  13. Thanks - it came out pretty nice. I never painted it or anything - Maybe someday!
  14. I always drill a little hole in the lock line return in my display to make a siphon break. Than and keep the out flow as close to the surface as I can as well.
  15. Old Thread... But I built my light rack out of 3/4" or 1/2" aluminum angle from Home Depot. I mitered the corners and put metal picture frame corners to reinforce them.
  16. I think what the question is, is are ALL of those items given to one winner or is each item going to have a raffle ticket pulled so that there are multiple winners and everyone that entered has a chance to win each individual item. I can't imagine all of that stuff going to just one person, that'd be a heck of a grand prize! But I assumed each item is being raffled off individually since they listed that tank as a "grand prize."
  17. Since you're putting this much thought into making a new build thread and potential build thread name, I can't wait to see all the thought into the actual build!!
  18. I have four of the IT2040's over my 200DD and my dad has 2 of them over his 120. My tank has had a number of issues/equipment failure over the past year that have kept things from growing like I'd like them to. But my Dad's tank... corals have grown great since we put the LEDs on them. I think water quality matters much more than the specific type of light over the tank. In short, very happy with them - they seem to grow corals more than adequately. Edit to add: Also have pairs of the D120's over our frag tanks - doing well there as well!
  19. This crazy fish is playing opossum! I just walked up to the tank and he/she was in the corner, upright and floating. As soon as he saw me, he flopped back on his side! I'll report back on him again tomorrow.
  20. Seriously?? I grabbed the two that paired off and placed them in the display, and this is what I see five minutes later. This is one very frightened fish! At least that's what I assume. Little guy was captured using one of those large clear plastic fish boxes that fish stores use to bag fish so it was never out of the water and no net. Its still like this after about 15 or 20 minutes in the tank. Got upright in the corner once but looked like he went out of his way to make as small a target as possible. Silly fish. Hope he/she is really just frightened and realizes it's being silly soon.
  21. Not really looking at breeding potential as much as I'd just like two of them and I don't want the two I have to end up killing each other. I'll keep an eye on them for a couple more days and if they look to be consistently pairing off, I'm putting the pair in the main display tank.
  22. I've got two 300 watt heaters on my system. I'd estimate I have somewhere between 280 and 300 gallons of system volume. (200 gallon tank, 45 gallon frag tank, 75 gallon sump)
  23. Need a pump? I have a spare 12000 you can borrow. Let me know and I'll make sure it works.
