  2. Two false percs, 1 flame hawkfish, 1 cleaner wrasse, 1 fire fish The larger of my two false percs just started to host a big colony of Zoos (They extend out over an inch), and seemed to be more agressive lately. That being said, the mimic is somewhat agressive too. I have caught him a few times backing into the hawkfish. Sounds like ***removed*** hit the fan last night. I'm just glad that is isnt some sort of disease. I'll keep watching. I hope I dont have to get rid of him, he has GREAT color and I'm looking forward to him changing..
  3. Thanks. He seems fine. He is eating and swimming around like normal..
  4. Are you adding additional rock? or starting a new tank? I started my current tank with about 80% dry rock, the rest was cured live rock. The tank had a normal cycle. I havent had any ammonia spikes from "lack" (meaning I dont think there is) of bacteria.... I will do it again when I upgrade the tank, it certainly will save you a couple bucks..

  8. I just noticed this on my Mimic Tang this morning. It looks like some kind of lesion. Any suggestions?
  9. how big is the rock that they are on? You could sell it on here....or trade someone for a clean rock...
  10. cool little tank! You may want to keep an eye out for a nano cube, they give you the same type of filtration, but you can hide it in the back...
  11. Would that outgrow my 90?
  12. 1) Increase Flow 2) Decrease Light 3) 20% Water Change 4) Manually remove algea 5) Beef Up Clean Up Crew 6) Think about a Fuge 7) Think about a algea scrubber 8) Buy RO/DI unit/Replace Filters?
  13. I have heard they have had fire problems..
  14. I checked this place out last week. Some decent looking fish, but I would QT anything I got them for sure. While I was there a worker was yanking dead fish and tossing them into the tank for the lion fish to eat... They also told me that it would be fine to put one of their sting rays only needed a 50 gallon tank... Honestly, I'm not sure why anyone would buy something from them. Their prices are no better than AquaCo or BRK and you dont get anywhere close to the same service or confidence in the livestock. Just my opinion.
  15. If your fish is showing signs of ick, i would remove it and treat with hypo in a QT

    Ammonia spike?

Just as a side note on using distilled water. Many times distilled water is held in copper so if you are planning of having inverts you might want to check that out....
  17. True, but with the food it's so easy to reintroduced which is why I concern myself more with keeping the stress down
  18. That's my guess too...
  19. Honestly, I am becoming more of a believer that ICK is always present in your tank. Keep your water quality high and make sure your fish are not stressed (tank mates, diet, etc.) and you will be good to go. A cleaner shrimp and fish will help a little too. (I have a cleaner wrasse and he's fun to watch) but to be on the safe side... If you can, put all your fish in a QT and treak them with hypo (lower salinity about .004 each day untill you get it down to 1.009). Keep if there for a few weeks and then you can introduce them back into your tank. Some will say longer, maybe they are right. In theory if you remove all fish from the DT for 4 weeks the life cycle of ICK should run and with no host the tank should be ICK free.... Like I said, I'm starting to believe it's always there and will show up when the fish's immunity system is low..
  20. will that run inside the tank?
  21. What I would do is cruise the for sale forum for a couple of weeks, you can grab a great skimmer for a sweet price. (research the skimmer then) I actually use a skimmer most would consider crappy (kent marine natulius te), but I clean it once a week and it's pulling a good amount of crude out and my water parameters are fantastic so it works for me. That being said, it came with my tank for free... I was going to upgrade, but it seemed to be doing a fine job. I do have to adjust it more than I would like, but I'm ok with it so far. (I'm not recommending you buy it)
  22. That's too bad Jon. I have been thinking about getting one ever since I saw yours. I'm going to do some more research...
  23. If anyone hasnt been by lately, you should stop in. The place looks great and they have more tanks up..
