  1. +1 I've had a couple and love them....they can get huge though. Here is an article talking about them (and dispells some myths). Cody Tube anemone
  2. I don''t really have a favorite brand, but here is an interesting article....food for thought anyways. Aquarium Heaters: What you need to know!
  3. +1 Many "treatment" medications are developed to attack organisms during a specific stage of their lifecycle. If redbugs do in fact lay eggs you will most likely need multiple doses at specific intervals to ensure its effective. If they are live bearers than 2 doses should do ....one to wipe out the masses and a second for any stragglers that are left behind. I'm at work right now so I can't find any sources to site but I'll do some digging around tonight and see what I can find. Bob is great with research but a second (or third, fourth, etc) set of eyes couldn't hurt. Out of curiosity...does this mean that even with coral dips and quarantining all new corals that the only way to ensure you don't introduce redbugs into your system is by treating them with interceptor (in addition/instead of dips)?
  4. Wow, amazing pics! Sorry your in a position to be taking them though. I don't keep acros so I haven't read up on redbugs but here is a link if your looking for ways to get rid of them. melevsreef/redbugs Cody
  5. +1 I think the store has a lot of potential. The FW section is pretty impressive...Im sure the SW will catch up as well. I've bought dry goods from them at a very fair price and plan to continue visiting the store to see how things progress with their livestock.
  6. Forgot this was pinned.... Kalk Overdose
  7. test your ph....if its below (or close to) 8.6 then you shouldn't need to take action. If its higher than that you can do a large water change, or if you don't have water already prepared you can add distilled white vinegar (I forget how much much you add but there should be a formula/calculator on this site)
  8. I believe it also depends on how your tank is set up. A DSB will require more 02 than a BB. But Like Coral Hind said, your main goal is water movement and some sort of gas exchange.
  9. $40 for the test and $20 S&H. I was thinking about sending out a sample just so I could check their findings against my home test kits...might help me know which kits are more accurate than others. (reference Bob's thread on testing kits)
  10. Ive had great experiences with them but if you look you'll notice there are NO negative posts for anything they carry. I always thought that was a bit shadey
  11. I thought I read somewhere (I could be completely wrong though) that the tank edges receive the majority of stress (lateral + horizontal force?). Since the edges will be "floating" is there an increased chance the seams will give out? I love the idea though....It'll look amazing if you're able to pull it off!
  12. +1 I have the dual reactor and have been very happy with it (especially for the $$$!). The GFO chamber will create a lot of movement within the media depending on how much gfo/flow you have of course, but the carbon is filled in a manner that deosn't allow if to move. Like L8 said, watch the BRS video when you have a chance...it should answer most (if not all) of your answers. Cody
