  6. Hi All, Fishnreef has been very proud to be a sponsor of WAMAS for the past 4+ years, supplying only captive grown livestock. To this end, we would like to offer a frag swap with WAMAS members attending the fall meeting on October 25th. We would like to swap frags of our captive grown corals, listed on our website www.fishnreef.com, with corals that we do not currently have. We are interested in all types of corals (SPS, LPS, softies) high and low end. Some corals we are interested in are ORA, Tyree, torts, shortcakes, euphyllia (hammer/frogspawn), chalices, zoas/palys, shrooms, acans/micromussas, anemones, variety of algae, etc. We do reserve the right to accept or reject any coral swap. We will supply healthy frags and expect the same. Please send us an email to fishnreef@gmail.com (preferred) or send us a PM. Please be specific on what you would like to trade and what you would like to receive. It does not have to be a one-for-one trade. Size also matters. There is also another benefit. If your coral dies, chances are that it will keep living in our system, and you have a backup. Contact us. See you at the meet. Thanks. - Fishnreef Team
  7. Justin, If in dire straits, and if your tap water is not too bad, you may want to consider using a water conditioner (Amquel, etc.) to make enough aerated/aged salt water for tomorrow and do a 40% change. Then you can use RODI over the next few days to dilute the pollution further.
  8. Bruce, Many thanks! Appreciate it. Vadim, Replying...
  9. Bob, Ditto. Aim several powerheads (like Tunzes) so that they are blowing the from live coral to dead. After a while, the STN may stop. However, if STNing keeps proceeding, frag the coral so that you save it, else you will slowly watch the whole coral die. N
  10. Paul, Looks like a great little trip. I like the artistic quality of your empty dock photo. Nadir
  11. You will be sterilizing the bacteria that you want growing...however, most of this bacteria will be living in your tank system. When starting, don't use the sterilizer. This will allow the bacterial growth to reach some critical mass. Later you can switch on the sterilizer. On the other hand, ozone carries in the water and would probably be a worse choice than a sterilizer to run. Hope this helps. Nadir
  12. Thanks all for having another great meeting! Almon, many thanks for patiently answering all those questions. Tony had great stories and pictures. Doug, thanks for updates. WAMAS rocks...!
  13. What a great photo! My favorite. Great job on the breeding guys...it's quite a bit of work!
  14. This definitely looks like a fun project to build... I've been ruminating...and now to make the time :-)
  15. You have a 150 tank. Like Coralhind said, sumps probably your best bet (make sure nothing will suck it into an intake). Or make a safe space using a small plastic basket or make a box using eggcrate (you get the idea). Capture it because it will not survive otherwise (may not anyhow).
  16. Renato, Looking very nice! Interesting to see some feedback on the lights.
