anyone have one of those 100 gallon rubbermade containers?... I had to empty my tank last time to catch a small angel...

50% of my SPS have little to no polyp extension in the last week or two... I was thinking I had a water quality issue until I saw my Potters polyp picking! He was reef safe, now definately not... SPS and Angelfish do not mix... this is the third time I have made this mistake and hopefully the last...

maybe a shark got him... have any sharks?

this is why its good to have experienced people come check out your tank... i have had people point stuff out in my own tank that has shocked me on a few occasions!

yup... if you are into SPS and haven't dipped/treated with interceptor chances are you have redbugs and you dont even know it!

I dont even have night lights... although I do want them... so I would say it doesn't matter if you run them or not.

I have that same coral and when I get redbugs I look at that coral first because its easy to see them... you should be able to see some of them running around on the corals... I have found not all of them move... maybe 5% run around... ?

redbugs bob! I am 99% sure they are red bugs. look closely at all smooth skinned acros.. I bet you have thousands... they are tiny!

Wow Bankyf are you a detective!? Good work! My tank stays between 8 and 8.4 in my kitchen next to a door that opens constantly. I am not dosing anything at the moment.

I rinse my arms with water, thats all. I am never scared unless fragging zoanthids or palys. However, there are plenty of things that can cause allergic reactions, etc... so there is always a risk... I would wear gloves when moving rocks to prevent cuts and infections... moving corals around or mounting them... no gloves!

has anyone used the spectrapure ato? I just got one and hooked it up...

I have been ordering 5 gallon bottles of water for a water cooler for years... Now that I moved my tank, my RO is directly under my kitchen so I am thinking about adding a kit to use my RO for drinking water... Anyone else do this?

My new set up (120 tech tank, Giesemann lighting, etc) came with a nice deltec calcium reactor. I have a kalk stirrer from the last tank as well as a nice dosing pump and alot of 2/3 part supplies. I haven't set up any dosing system yet on the new tank... I was thinking about doing just 2 part and kalk... but figured I might as well try out the calcium reactor... What would you do? kalk and 2 part? kalk and calcium reactor? calcium reactor only? kalk reactor, calcium reactor and 2 part to adjust?
