  1. I need a apex display to fix my apex. I moved the reef yesterday and upon rebooking everything back up one of the eb8s turned all of the ports off. There isn't internet at the new house yet and my display is broken. If you can help me out and let me use your display to reconfigure the apex that would be awesome!! Call me or text because I'm currently moving my house hold goods today. 703-459-7759 Thank you!!!! This is in Woodbridge VA.
  2. yes downdraft, and I don't know if they are or not. the skimmers are monsters
  3. I do weekly WC. Usually 5 gallons but sometimes 10
  4. All of that in a Nuvo 40
  5. Matt it's never light! Lol nah this time it's only two tiny clowns a cardinal and a juvenile yellow tang and a ton of corals.
  6. Dude go with a etss becket skimmer.
  7. yeah I figured that when my searches came up with nada... I'm looking for used, from what I have read people really liked them but the price was out of control.
  8. thanks yeah I have been looking into the HOB skimmers and I don't think it would work with a Nuvo, the ghost skimmers dont have the reliability. so far I think I may go with a tunze 9002 skimmer with the MOD. it works well and has no low sound. but the skimmer I'm trying to find more information about is the euro-reef nano skimmers.. can't seem to find any for sale at the moment.
  9. sorry to hear broski!! hope the reboot of the tank goes as planned without unwelcome algae.
  10. I'm currently running a Tunze 9004 Nano skimmer but I'm finding out that it is very sensitive to water levels and makes too much sound. In my new house the Nano reef will be in the formal living room and that last thing I want to focus on is the skimmer sound. so with that said does anyone have any good experience with Nano skimmers? I was trying to lookup euro-reef skimmers but it seems I forgot the their new company name (reef dynamics is for the large skimmers) anyways I'd like to hear your comments on Nano skimmers and what you believe is the best from experience. thanks!
  11. awesome broski you deserve it! dope tank, I love the sticks
  12. dude killer coral, I loved it when I first saw it back in 2007... slow grower but so awesome...
  13. thanks guys... yeah this guy has tripled in size since I got him; seriously fast grower. in fact he has out grown my 40NUVO. he will be up for sale shortly today. thanks again!
  14. All I remember from the guy I got it from is said it was a Steve Tyree coral. Any ideas?
  15. Ben you should check out the saltwater reefer lounge on FB you'd love it!! hahahahaha
  16. arwndsh thanks for the tips, I will use them when the move day arrives. Dave!! thank broski I already have a 40 breeder that I'm going to be using to transfer the corals and fish in, I do however need some water containers (food grade barrels would work perfectly) so I can have premade salt water and fresh water at the new house.
  17. I need to borrow two water containers that holds at least 55 gallons. Let me know if you can let me borrow it for that weekend!
  18. Sunday we will be moving the house hold goods. Tank goes in first!!! Lol
  19. This is what I need help moving!!
  20. hey eric do you have a water containers that I could use to make new salt water and fresh water at the new house? I figure I should have at least 40 gallons of both ready on hand just at the new place.
  21. free? haha yeah pizza and beer, corals? nope! thanks Eric, I really appreciate the help!
  22. Hello WAMAS gang, I was hoping if I could recruit some people to help me move my tank into my new home on 5/30/2015. that is Saturday a little over 3 weeks from now. I have zero experience in moving a tank and don't want to pretend that I do. However I do know that I will provide more food than you can eat and beer for you to drink! I hope to get some awesome advice in this thread as to how to avoid disasters and best practices. the info you need: starting point ---> 3989 Cressida pl 22912 Saturday May 30 @11am until complete 40 NUVO High (I think it is around 35 gallons) 40 gallon top off tank various supporting equipment I know some of you are wondering why I can't do this on my own so here is a quick summary on why. I'm a late stage heart failure patient and currently have a artificial heart that is enabling me to stay alive. I can do most things normally but if you can imagine there are limitations: 1. I'm not water proof, i know it sounds weird but I have electronic equipment that can not get wet. 2. I can't lift anything heavy, I know I look normal (if you ignore the equipment) but muscles need oxygen to work properly, my pump delivers a specific amount of blood which is sufficient for activity but nothing strenuous. so it basically allows me to lift a 5 gallon bucket of water without feeling exhausted. the move will be a total of 4 miles away, I'm moving from Woodbridge to Woodbridge! not a huge move but it would help if someone had a truck, we can use my minivan also! in any case let me know if you want to help with the move, eat, drink or just watch the shenanigans! thanks everyone Josh
