  1. so sad, and I hate it when I hear people talk about how global warming doesn't exist. shameful!
  2. absolutely! I'm in the same boat, with the transplant only 2.5 months behind me I can't lift very much at all. I'm sure if I told my transplant team that I planned to lift a 200 gallon glass tank they would have me mentally evaluated! lol all good I'll find some people to help eventually!
  3. yes sir, it looks like you are the only one who expressed interest in helping other than Leeds, Ron, and myself! I'm trying but it looks like it might be next weekend until I can find a couple more people to help.
  4. Saturday is a no go for me, this weekend Saturday is my Sons bday and next week Saturday is a family BBQ that I'm cooking for. Sunday however is wide open. just need to find some volunteers to help lift and move the tank.
  5. Sunday, March 19th or the next weekend Sunday, March 26th Ron would noon be okay for a time?
  6. Springfield to Woodbridge VA should be around 18 miles.
  7. So now that I finally have my heart transplant and I'm getting much better in health I have finally pulled the trigger and purchased a Marineland 200DD from long time friend and WAMAS Member Ron (CaptainRon). I'm stoked that I'll finally have a large tank again in my home to enjoy when those days get long and rough. I want to move this tank but I lack the strength to do so; if you have the time and energy to help me move this tank to my home in Woodbridge VA I would be very grateful. I can pay you in Beer and pizza. Ron has generously offered to help and provide 4 suction cups to assist with the move. I will need 4 people to help move the tank but as always the more the merrier. let me know if you can help me out this coming weekend.
  8. that is one beautiful tank broski.
  9. thanks guys for the kind words. since the beginning of joining WAMAS I have built many systems and I think this is by far the most enjoyable because of the location, colors, ease of care, and the simple fact it surprises me every week with new nems popping out with different colors and designs.
  10. Thanks guys. Yeah I can never really get out of this hobby. Love it too much to bail. I did take some blue shots but g Couldbt get really great shot. All these years and my camera skills still stink. Lol
  11. yes they have reproduced on their own maybe around 30 of them. I only purchased 24 originally.
  12. Yeah I'll post some tonight. The colors are insane with all blues.
  13. I haven't really posted anything about this tank in a long time. I'd like to share my little slice of the reef which happens to be a species specific tank dedicated to rock flower anemones. The tank it's self has been up and running since December 2015 and I haven't had any problems at all since setting it up. It's been a joy to watch this tank mature over the past 14 months and it's growing to the point that I have ordered a reef crest 17 from Adam at artfully acrylic. It will continue to sit on my kitchen counter behind my sink so I can enjoy it while I cook and clean every day. Equipment: about as basic as you can get lol no fish and only the bio load of inverts makes this a simple easy to care for ecosystem. Simple 1 gallon a week water change is all that is required. Artfully Acrylic RC9 tank with drawer Tunze nano auto top off 100 watt heater Quite one Return pump Ai Prime nano LEDs with light tree Live stock: No fish. None zilch zippo 10 lbs almost of live rock About 50+ rock flower nems 2 snails Mexican and Asterina 1 emerald crab 1 hermit crab 7 frags of random zoanthids Caribsea live sand medium course grade I chose to go fishless because of the volume of water I have would make it less manageable for me maintenance wise. I wanted the bare minimum and also wanted to maximize the focus on the rock flower nems in the tank. I've always been amaze with the variety of colors these nems grow. I started with 24 rock nems and over the course of a year they have almost tripled in numbers thriving on a diet of raw shrimp once a month and invert detritus. It's amazing that the spawns come in different colors and patterns than the originals and I'm curious on how many will actually grow in a confined tank. They don't seem to be bothered by over crowding and in fact they seem to be happier in groups thank isolated on the rock or sand bed. I do have zoanthids in this system and that's because I have a soft spot for zoas and I have my favorites on the sand bed to eat up the extra space where nems don't grow. Overall this is a fun tank and very colorful when the blues pop on every evening. Deffinently providing that wow factor when I have visitors. Last but not least some pictures. I'll post only daylight pictures to show how much color these nems provide. If I post the atinic pics your eyes would.melt from the glow... lol kidding I'll post some blue pics tonight.
  14. someone has contacted me and everything should work out now. thank you everyone.
  15. thanks yeah never fun dealing with a family member passing. thank for the information.
  16. Good morning, I need some help for a friend. His younger brother died unexpectedly and since then my friend has severely neglected his tank and is in need of a huge water change and some other TLC. does anyone know of a service company that can do maintenance? they need to be able to service zip code 22193. thank you n advance for the help.
  17. yeah the waiting is almost as bad as the surgery... almost... lol One thing I have learned from my 1st open heart surgery is that you should NEVER rush anything. take you time and listen to your body! I'm 3 months shy of 3 years with an artificial heart and just as long waiting for a heart transplant! so if I can do this, you'll handle your surgery like a rock star.
  18. good luck broski!! pro tip: get a firm pillow so you can hug/squeeze post surgery. it will help when you cough or breath in general. and get someone to build you a pillow ramp in your bed so you can sleep on a incline position for the 1st couple of weeks.
  19. check with Adam at Incredible Corals in Manassas, he has a guy.
  20. man you should include invertebrates because my rock flower anemones collection is growing like a champ! started with 30 now I have 45 last count in 1 year!!
  21. Doctors have grounded me to a 2 hour drive time broski... soo depressing!!
  22. WOW that looks slick... I love new tech!
  23. you sure nothing is eating him?
