  1. Yeah it's attached well on the rock. So I guess I'm stuck with it for the moment.
  2. Not a sponge I've ever seen before. Any idea if something eats this stuff? It's not hurting anything it's just unsightly
  3. Anyone know what this is?? And what eats it or how can I get rid of it?
  4. I've had customer service issues with them in the past but after MACNA and speaking with the techs and getting some solid advice and help all issues were resolved. besides go talk to Ben now about how he feels about them once he helped them setup their display at MACNA!! haha
  5. I use it inside and out, just use different pads. works like a champ.
  6. if you have the space check out Aquarium Engineering Skimmers, made by Bill Wann.
  7. Oh and I picked up a PVC shear made by Milwaukee, it cuts PVC like butter. Love it
  8. After using the mixing station for the pat couple months I have made some adjustments that were from a lack of planning in design. I added a drainage valve, another true union ball valve and a union. Needed to do maintenance on the pump, to drain the pipes I had to add a drainage valve and union to enable me to remove the pump without water everywhere. Then I added another True union ball valve to increase the output valve to my tanks. I also installed a inline heater which worked great in mild low temps but as soon as the weather dipped below freezing the inline heater stopped being effective. So I'm back to the drawing board with the heater issue.
  9. I need to come over to check out the tank bro!
  10. I have both, GYRE is awesome as long as it doesn't break for whatever reason... so far I have replaced the blades bushings controller and a motor. The Ecotech (old version) has never had any part replaced, just typical mantiance.
  11. so basically pop the small ones but not the big ones? to be honest popping them makes it easy to remove a thousand bubbles at one servicing.
  12. yeah I've been popping them also but only when I do a water change afterwards. so I guess I'm half & half myth believer... however I would like to note the BEST tool for bubble algae I have found is a dental tooth scaper, that thing works like a hot knife in butter.
  13. i contacted Johnny at BRK to order me a 2 bared rabbitfish. hoping that works! going to be listing the one spot fox face for sale shortly.
  14. I'm right there with ya. I don't want to give up but holy cow it's frustrating
  15. Yeah being Korean I have plenty of chopsticks in the house. But I have a blunt dental tool that works the best. I've been toying with trying to attach the tool to the end of my water change hose so I can suck out anything I pop off.
  16. Eric I'll probably get some turbos and the two bar rabbit. Can it coexist with the one spot?
  17. Yeah I've done that before with limited success. That's why I'm at my wits end. I've been dealing with bubble algae off and on for the past 16 months. Insanely difficult to get rid of completely
  18. It's in a 40nuvo so Marco algae is difficult. I might try ferric oxide. Need to do some research on it first.
  19. Btw the strawberry shortcake frag is growing already. Such a dope stick. Thank you again!
