I bought some orphek lenses for my iPhone. Took a bit of messing around to get what I wanted, and not there yet, but brats breaking out the DSLR…

Everything looks great! Is this the only system you're running now?

Thanks! I have a little frag tank (11gallons) as well, but there’s no plan for it.

For whatever reason, that frag tank keeps popping up with algae. I've broken it down, and scrubbed everything, and set it back up again. I've added a giant CUC, and I've even done a skimmer and aggressive water changes, and added an MP10 for flow. No matter what, it always starts to take a hold again.

So I've started a fluconazole treatment. It doesn't look like bryopsis, but at this stage, 100% natural has not been working on this particular tank.

It's only been 3 days, but I'm going to keep my skimmer offline. No visible differences yet, other than the coral seem to be "brighter" or more opened up. This tank also grows coraline really well.

thanks, Pedro! So were 9 days out of 14 in. I will do a 30% water change this upcoming Monday.

the corals are visibly happier. I still have not put my skimmer cup back on, although they say you can after day 3.

The many years ago I used it, I remember the tips turning white, and dramatically wilting algae away. This time it’s not as dramatic, but it is working, the algae is simply disappearing.

the tank looks clearer, the water looks clearer, and nothing seems to be effected except for the algae. Hopefully this will be a permanent fix!

Phew, a lot happening over here.

i did a full one round treatment of flucanozle on the nano, and it did its job great. Now im having cyano, its 💯 a low flow issue, the softies don’t mind, mushrooms and zoas thriving.

The gigantica was walking around the tank in the DT, and I couldn’t manage the collateral damage that MIGHT have occurred, so I sold it and replaced with a Black Widow BTA.

I also had dinoflaggets. Well, have I guess. After aggressive water changes, I realized I was only making it worse, so dirtying up the tank isn’t a problem. Looking for a UV Sterilizer to add to the tank, even though I think I’m making (very slow) progress. Cutting back the photo period has helped dramatically.

through all of this, my SPS is popping off. So I guess I can’t complain. I also have had an explosion of blue clove polyps, that I didn’t think I had moved into this tank. Not cool. Looks like I’ll get to have a go with Fenbendazole!

Man that’s a lot to go through! UV really helped when I’ve had dinos in the past but sometimes it’s just taken awhile to fully kick them. At least your SPS are happy, when I have dinos mine usually really don’t do well.

Baby arrived early, happy & healthy, and I'm finding that I have incremental time around the house to check on the tanks. I'm glad I moved this into the living room, as we pay it more attention, and it demands upkeep being in the room we spend the most amount of time in.

The dinos persist, even though it doesn't look like it from this photo. I haven't tested my water since, but I have been feeding super heavy and have not done any water changes. While it seems to be getting better, it still continues to pop up. I have a drop in UV for a 75 gallon tank arriving tomorrow, so I'm hoping it will nip the dinos once and for all.

During all this algae nonsense, these blue clove polyps have just gotten out of control. That will be my next battle. I didn't even know they were in the tank, YIKES.

Also, check out the SPS, it's POPPING off. That will be another problem soon, lol!

This poor little nano. A little over a month ago, I thought it looked bad, but it was actually in MUCH better shape than it is now. I've realized that the power supply I had on my MP10 was actually completely wrong, and the wavemaker was not working as it should. Just today, I finally rooted around my equipment in the basement, and found the right one. Water is finally moving here in the tank, besides just the return, which was not enough.

Also, the skimmer went out, and I've just pulled it back online tonight. A water change in the next day or two, and I'm confident I'll have this back to snuff in no time.

Congratulations! They definitely come on their own schedule. Hope mom is doing well too. Enjoy the ride, they grow up way too fast.

Congrats DAD and family!

I've been away mostly because I had my own litter (3 in 2 years, darn BOGO deals). Epic news to return to! Happy for you and the fam! Congrats!

better than BoGo! Good for you! So far everything feels manageable!

Congratulations on the little one!!! Although aquariums demand some of your time, it's not a bad hobby to have when you have small kids. Hopefully, you can find a little time here and there for maintenance while the baby is napping!

Thanks! Outside of fighting Dino’s, everything is manageable for now. Day 3 of UV and in think we’re close! Good news is, SPS continues to thrive, so I’ve got that going for me!

I’ve already got plans for the frag tank moving into her room 😍

Congrats on the frag. This is much better that a home wrecker

Congratulations on your new baby girl! When the baby is old enough to sit up, put the highchair in front of the fish tank. Even as babies, they appreciate beauty.

GAH!

it looks worse than it is. Already seeing a dramatic improvement, there’s really not anything left in there besides the clownfish pair and some fireworks cloves, rics, and GSP.

here’s a photo from this afternoon. A week of the UV seems to have finally nipped the dinos. Not bad for a $30 amazon special. I guess something is better than nothing. The SPS continues to explode, so I’ll take that blessing.

the blue clove polyps are becoming prolific. I think I’m going to try fenbendazole. Once I get them hopefully eliminated, this tank will be back to normal, until the next thing.

Dang I want a clam again.

Also, interesting to see the swaying types at the top and the sticks in the middle - fancy lighting settings or the torches just are fine with it?

longest I’ve kept a clam alive!

I’ve not taken par in the new tank, but everything is roughly the same distance from water to lights. It was more so using rock I had scaped already, and a smaller footprint than I had anticipated. I still sold so much, and surprisingly kept just as much 😬

my torches have never cared about the higher PAR though!
