For the life of me I can't figure out what this is growing on my sand bed. If any one had any idea please let me know. I hope this is not Aptesia. It looks like it has tentacles. It's root is buried under the sand. I could easily get rid of it. But I'd like to know what this is, and where it came from. Very odd for this to show up. This is the only one I can see. I hope there are not any more in the tank.

When I was first keeping a saltwater tank, a LFS said, "oh those are just cute mini anemones". I guess being such a noob that things die is not always a bad thing.

Late to the party, but yea, it's Aiptasia. Scoop or siphon it out since it's in the sand. Keep an eye out for more elsewhere.

they are like roaches. Where theres one theres normally more.

Hi, Yes, take it out ASAP. Please read about how to remove them first so the don't release more into your tank.

Good luck!
