BowieReefer84 January 8, 2014 January 8, 2014 (edited) Interceptor... Look it up, but don't ask to purchase publicly. Edited January 8, 2014 by BowieReefer84
rocko918 January 8, 2014 January 8, 2014 There are a couple of different routes. You could treat the tank. Or pull your sps and treat them on their own. That bayer stuff seems to work fine.

pizzaguy January 9, 2014 Author January 9, 2014 Ok I have no clue where to get interceptor. Anyone wanna help me out? ?
Marc Weaver January 9, 2014 January 9, 2014 It is no longer being made. It was replaced with Sentinel, available from your vet by prescription only. Sentinel adds a flea killing agent, and some say it works fine, others say it does not work. You'll have to research it and decide for yourself. I've not tried it.
pizzaguy January 9, 2014 Author January 9, 2014 Gotcha. I'm gonna do some searching. Someone has got to have some stockpiled I'm sure.
Sharkey18 January 9, 2014 January 9, 2014 I think most people are using the bayer treatment these days.
pizzaguy January 9, 2014 Author January 9, 2014 Let's say hypothetically I ALREADY FOUND some interceptor. Can someone please tell me exactly how to do this and all the do's and don't to use it. For example how to dose and what to turn off like carbon etc. Etc.
ctenophore January 9, 2014 January 9, 2014 I've dosed interceptor directly into display tanks before with few side effects. One large dog tablet treats about 300 gallons. IME, dosing isn't an exact science. If you are treating 150 gallons, just cut the pill in half. You will kill any ornamental shrimp and crabs. Plus a lot of pods. But the population of the latter will recover. No need for carbon to remove it IME. Turn off your skimmer for 12 hours after adding it. Maybe repeat in a week, but IME one treatment was enough to kill all redbugs. Just drop it in and red bugs (+ other crustaceans) will be gone in 12h or less, very easy. Notice this is all my experience, but your mileage may vary. sent from phone. please excuse brevity.
pizzaguy January 9, 2014 Author January 9, 2014 So are you saying I can leave the carbon running that's always on in my tank.
