Mike's 115gal tank

You're going to paint the hardwood? I think the color looks really nice against the color of your walls. Maybe just a coat of light stain instead?

It is still plywood... The edges are kind of "unfinished" even with sanding, as you can distinctly see the 5 plys. I was going to fill the cut edges with drywall mud, and sand that smooth. After all sides are smooth I was going to paint it.

I dunno.

Some updates. Skin for stand is completely finished, and plumbing is 100% for drains and return just needs to be glued up.

Any glaring issues in my plumbing before I add water, and actually get going?

Looks awesome!

Thank you.

Looking good Mike! Did you paint is gloss black?

Thanks Henry. Actually used a 3M Gloss Black Vinyl. The side was easy, but doing that large front panel was a pita to wrap without any bubbles... A couple small imperfections if you get really close, but all around I am very happy. Much better than I could have ever achieved with paint.

you might want to extend your pipes down a little bit more. might keep the salt creep down from the splashing.

that's a good point. you could add a coupling and a small piece of pvp easily enough. I have a J shape at the bottom of my pipes that quieted them down (if yours turn out to gurgle or be loud).

and are you running the bean animal or a modified herbie with 2 emergency drains?

I was going to do beananimal, but it will likely turn out to be a herbie with 2 emergency drains if I can 'tune' it good enough. This will prevent any splashing I believe? That's how you are running right?

The far left pipe is the one that should ALWAYS be dry. I have it a little higher so I will hear the splashing and know there is an issue.

I have 1" piping with the eheim 1262. I am thinking it will be around 75% open.
