  1. Hey John, You know where the other 99% of us stand. We know you guys ar not like a 7-11. That new Jaw fish I bought Friday is eating various foods including pellets. What a personality.
  2. Actually, I did the sprinkler head years ago. I'm going to do another soon if I can find the parts again. Of course it cannot contain any metal parts. Had to clean it often but it was dirt cheap and worked well. I powered it with a MJ1200.
  3. Especially if you consider shipping cost. I will still buy some things on-line if the price is really great. Just think what it would be like if on-line was the ONLY source :( :computer:
  4. Just something to think about... If you can find it at a reasonable price locally; buy it locally rather than over the net. We're fortunate to have good local "reef-shops" where we can shop and they need our support to stay in business. BRK diversified into marine stuff and F&F is reallying getting into it. Marine Scene has been around a while so must be doing something right. These are sorta local to me, I hear of some up in Maryland also. Hats off to you folks and I hope you stay in business a long time a prosper :77: . I could be just a nice guy wishing for your success or just looking-out for numero uno... OK both
  5. When was the shipment unpacked? Ready to be sold?
  6. Even if you don't have a fuge or even a sump, stuff a wad of cheato in your tank. I looked closely at mine (just a wad in the main tank) and it's full of pods! Some adults and several tiny ones. It makes a great pod-breeding zone! Fish predators can't penetrate enough to deplete the population. Just saw my first mini brittle star crawl out too. Heck, I might even get a mandrin one of these days. Anyone near Manassas want a handful, just stop-by.
  7. Put the super glue gel right on the broken end of a piece of coral and press it to a rock and it dries underwater. It very rapidly becomes inert or comes out of the tube that way.
  8. OK OK so I gotta buy the expensive pump, sheeeesh :P I think there was a major upgrade or transfer of data a few years back that made numbers and dates out-of-sync. Mike, you gotta see my new ASM skimmer!
  9. No pics or illustrations but I'll try to take a pic once I put it together. It will allow me to route all the flow to the main tank or some of it thru a canister with whatever I want to put in it like carbon, polyfilter, chemipure, underwear... and then back into the sump.
  10. Problem is $6.98 shipping :(
  11. My sump is also only a 20 high. I might T off the return with a valve returning to the sump and going through a DIY canister for occasional carbon use.
  12. Eric I have an AGA 65gal with a megaflow. Right now it has a Rio 2100 for the return split into 2 outlets. Very low flow and you know the rest. What size tank do you have the 1262 on?
  13. So Eric, if I could spend the extra bucks, I should be comparing the Mag9 and Sen900 to the Eheim 1260, right? That one is $120 and 65w.
  14. Yea, I probably should be in the 900gph range so here are my 4 best options. Eheim 1260 = 750gph+, 65w, $120 Eheim 1262 = 1000gph+, 80w, $130 Mag 9.5 = 950gph, 93w, $70 Sen 900 = 900-1045gph, 98w, $80 Comparable gph Mag & Sen much cheaper up-front Eheim much more expensive up-front, a little cheaper in the long-run due to lower wattage and long life. Me = :wall:
  15. I was thinking Mag but herd they were noisy. Did you folks put some kind of pad under it?
  16. I'm afraid of RIO Eheim seems awfully expensive I hear the Mags are noisy Sen, maybe ... doh :bigcry: I'm lookinf for the best value in the 700-800 gph range that is quiet, reliable, not super expensive. Suggestions/opinions?
  17. I use 1 tube and get a few squeezes and it's gone Looking for larger tube that's not too expensive. What do you folks use?
  18. I dunno
  19. Maybe they want to raise bergia's......... nah just neglect :P I was house-hunting and a guy said I could have his reef tank. Full of aptasia! I said no-thanks.
  20. Any word on these? Any opinions on how the are? Anyone carrying the 34"-35" size?
  21. I have the big things like snails and I've seen pods on the rocks but I need more life in the DSB. My tank has had live rock and some scoops of sand from a few other tanks for a few months now. Suggestions?
  22. I just got the G2 with a sedra 3500 for a WAMASer who wanted the G3. It's on my 65 with a 20 sump. The old skimmer wasn't doing anything, the G2 created foam and pulled gunk in the first hour! I finally have a serious skimmer!
  23. I've seen tanks end-out with just aptasis and all other corals stung to death. Eliminate all you can and then add a few peppermint shrimp to keep them in ckeck.
  24. His question was in regards to a UV shield (piece of UV rated glass) between the lights and the water. HQI bulbs supposidly give-off more UV rays which can be harmful.
