  1. I'm challenged by this. I use the timer on the oven. I also have a couple of water detectors right next to where the RO/DI water is stored (and overflows.) I "use" it about every other month or so. I've been able to catch overflows within minutes.
  2. My heaters are stand alone. I like the WOn Brothers Titanium heaters with the PRO-HEAT D-58 LED DIGITAL DISPLAY TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER. Steve
  3. My sump is under the stand. I have two 1" drains and two 3/4" returns. The drains use hard PVC but the returns use 3/4 inch "Clear Vinyl Tubing" (purchased at Home Depot). As I recall, they have larger sizes as well. Steve
  4. I was looking for a generator. ugh. looks like the rebate is for "in-store only" only http://www.partsamerica.com/ and their brick & mortar stores are out west. Advanced AUto Part is a partner but the rebate coupn does not seem to include them.
  5. This is info & link is helpful. If I understand this correctly, it explains the reason why the instructions with my RO/DI unit mentions that "It is recommended that at least 2 gallons of purified water be discarded before collecting purified water for use. If the unit is not used for several days, run the system for at least 15 minutes before collecting water."

  7. I think it is a snail or a slug. It seems to have tentacles and a small shell (the snails I have in my tank have a full shell.)
  8. I must have missed the late breaking news about the Tax rebate. Did they move the decimal point to the right one or two places? Seriously, a very nice lookin' fish but not in my budget at this time.
  9. What happened to the sense of humor among WAMAS members?
  10. We now use http://www.pentairaquatics.com/products/de...algae_pads.html . (We used to use a magfloat, http://www.magfloat.net/telas/pagina.php?id=5&idc=3, but a few bits of sand grit got stuck in the cleaner and scratched the tank.)
  11. I'm pleased with my 100 Gal Tenecor http://www.tenecor.com ordered through Ultimate Saltwater Aquariums in Maryland....
  12. My sump is a 30 Breeder with foam-like material inserted to serve as a baffle ... no silicone, no glass/plexiglass. It took 3 minutes to measure, cut, and insert into place. I purchased the baffle material at http://www.exoticaquatics.com/ Larger image showing blue baffle material to separate skimmer generated bubbles from rest of sump and return pumps.

  15. How often do you empty/rinse your protein skimmer?
  16. We noticed that one of our torch corals does not look like it is growing and is becoming less translucent. Any thoughts? We also read that they are carnivorous. Any thoughts/experience on feeding?
