  1. Was there today and wow what a difference! Many of the tanks were much cleaner (inside and out), corals had more room, and there was a tank dedicated to quite large colonies of Acan lords and Blasto wellsi (which I don't see very often anymore). Jos goofed around with me about the prices of the colonies, but I knew I couldn't afford them when I saw them. The front tank was very clean, and even had nice 2" maximas in it. I would have gotten one, but I don't think that there prices could hang w/ Sonny's. I did pick up the juvi peacock mantis, so the pale green one is still there. It already appears more comfortable w/ rock and pvc to start a burrow. I placed it in my fuge, but it will probably get its own tank shortly. Next step is to read up and sex it so that the GF can name it. I am pleased to see that they are taking more care of things - maybe it's b/c they don't have to focus on plant and landscaping during the winter.
  2. Wish I was part of the 'family.' Maybe SurlyT can help me out since we are in the same neck of the woods.
  3. Welcome to the club. I'm a Walkersvillan class'o'94.
  4. Just a guess... Maybe a juvi alveopora (sp.)?
  5. Saw them yesterday. There were about 6 left, and they def had ich. Neat looking fish though.
  6. Were the frags mounted? They may have come from the rock or plugs frags were mounted on. I have many of these stars, and as I understand, they are good detrivores.
  7. I thought brine meant that they were more salt than saltwater. I don't think that anything is comfortable w/ the salinity besides brine shrimp and brine flies. Sorry, and flamingos.
  8. If your frags are going to be for sale or trade, they will not show their potential colors in pics or to the naked eye. A higher kelvin, or maybe an actinic to use soley for pics etc., may help. Just my .02
  9. I had no idea that the change was so fast. I'm glad that I'm a human, and that my girlfriend stays Nancy, and doesn't wake up one day Ned.
  10. Wow. In those pics that octo looks like it means business... 20,000 leagues under the sea business. Did you get to feed or play?
  11. They look great! It's amazing how black and white can really pop in a reef tank. Watching them school must be really interesting and relaxing - or maybe I'm just a dork.
  12. Alright, try pseudocorynactics. Maybe.
  13. I can't exactly remember... But it's something like 'ball' anemone. I'll have to look around, but if I recall correctly it's a non-invasive species.
  14. Looks great! Now the hardest part; MY waiting for your corals to grow, so that you can frag me some. So few of us in the Fredneck area.
  15. Yeesh, I thought it was the 'Smog Monster' from the Godzilla days of old.
  16. Their new website states that they will reopen on 3/2. Hopefully the new store/management will be good for all of us. (And maybe a WAMAS discount!)
  17. It was my understanding that the sands now are silica based.
  18. Squiddly, don't forget about the 'true' diver's remedy. The one used for jellyfish. Vinegar will work too.
  19. Wow!!! Sad thing is, now my tank is sitting in its room sulking and green w/ envy.
  20. Just make them think they are crazy, and tell them that you don' hear it. Eventually, they'll ignore it or come to like it. Or, as the tank matures, people will tend to stare instead of listen.
  21. LOL. Work that too. USPP/D5 here.
  22. If you ask me, 6 and 7D are the only way to go - but nobody did. So... Triggerfish, welcome to the club, and dont be afraid to ask any questions. Everyone in this club is amazingly helpful, and don't scoff at any question (like some other sites).
  23. Beautiful tank. Let me know if you want to frag that Louis.
  24. Sorry I missed ya, but I drilled my 75 for a 1 3/4" bulkhead. I have the bit (for future reference) and live by the post office in New Market.
