  1. Skim plus the old fashioned power filter w/ carbon and filter floss. It'll take a few days, and changing alot of floss, but it'll work out. BTW, you'll probably have to use extra powerheads, or just stir the tank w/ your arm to keep things in suspension.
  2. I almost lost my mind, I happened to get a new internet security suite around the same time the site went down. I didn't know what the heck was going on. Thanks for the email update.
  3. Awesome pics! What's that I smell? WAMAS dive trip? Hmmm....
  4. Holey Moley on that new addition! Incredible Hulk Monti? Nice grab.
  5. He He, someone on RC has a reduced rate of $650.00. Maybe I'll just skip the mortage this month and get one.
  6. I know many people including myself who have 'overdriven' pcs. I have the same hood for my prop tank (although it's only 2 bulbs) and use 55w bulbs. I have never had a problem. Hellolights actually carries a ballast in their clearance section that powers 28-55w pcs. You'll be fine.
  7. I'm also interested in some LR and LS when you post some prices. I'm local in New Market. Thanks.
  8. Awesome! I have 6 sexy shrimp, and 1 female is due to pop soon. I noticed something odd with them though. Looking in my tank (minibow 7 sexies and mushies/rics only) at night with a regular old battery powered flashlight, some of the shrimp looked green and others looked like the regular colors. I've been checking for a few weeks now, and I think that the males look green under this lighting and the females do not. I can't be positive, but the one female that is pregnant definitely does not show green. Could anyone else give this a shot? It doesn't appear to be something they are eating b/c the entire carapace has a sheen of green, not just the gut. Lemme know!
  9. Don't know if you've been there yet, but nano-reef dot com is very helpful. I had a 10g w/ a fuge for a while. It was fun to have, but the evap was killing me. I didn't feel like buying a ATO (that would've been the most expensive thing on the tank, since I had everything else on hand). I had mushies, softies, a torch, frogspawn, zoas, cerith snails, nass. snails, margarita snails, pom-pom crab, but no fish. You've got plenty of light to put anything but SPS in there. But definitely look into nano-reef, and you'll see a million ideas for HOB fuges which will keep the macros out of the display.
  10. I used some car undermount LEDs from AutoZone, and a converter I had laying around (or could be purchased at Radio Shack). The lights are decent; water resistant casing and double sided tape, for around 11.00 for 8. The only problem I had was placing them in good spots to prevent the 'spotlight' effect.
