  1. Are there tank tours coming up??? Newbie me would love to see and get some guidance from the senior (not age ) folks!
  2. Seems true enough... my mom always say that the day you are born, you start to die (slowly)...
  3. You think??? I'm just hoping they are not fighting each other.
  4. Any ideas what my cardinals are doing???
  5. Did you also have to make assumptions to the changes with temperature and weather (seasons)?
  6. Thank you Tom! My eel is doing very well also. He is getting a lot bigger!
  7. BRS has one now too: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/pod-chest-barr-aquatic-systems.html
  8. Thank you everyone. My good friend came over and helped me put together a top. Hopefully won't happen again. I really didn't think mandarins are jumpers. We are definitely not handy people. [emoji16] Their video looks so easy but they never tell you a saw was needed. My itty bitty saw worked... barely. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. Well.... my female mandarin jumped out last night. Found her this morning. She was such a great fish. She would come out and greet me everyday when I come near the tank. Just devastating.
  10. What do you guys think about this? Was going to try it to keep the population for my mandarins rather than culturing them. https://www.marinedepot.com/Pod_Hotel_Copepod_Haven_Reef_Easy_Feeder_Fish_and_Coral_Feeding_Tools-Pod_Hotel-7C2483-FIFDFEMF-vi.html
  11. Hello! Welcome back. I'm very new to the hobby and always happy to see more experience people coming back. More knowledge for us newbie.
  12. They must really love that particular coral. Also, there is a bristle worm (?) on the top left of the second picture. They are everywhere!
  13. DEFINITELY safe! If you don't have corals... inverts ... tiny fish.... other then that... absolute model citizens.
  14. I just make sure I put them somewhere with good lighting and they seem to just stick to that spot. Once they are there, I have never had good luck removing them. My oldest is only about 7 months or so and it never moved. But I do feed it twice a week.
  15. Val has friends! Trying to feed the eel but lost the food to Val.... she's such a fatty.
  16. I think it's just a matter of preference. I used IO/RC before and their levels never seem to be the same between buckets and it made testing/consistency a nightmare. So far the Tropic Marin Pro has been great for me. I use less salt per gallon. Less residue in the water bucket (less cleaning) and it dissolve clear so much faster. Maybe I'm bias . The sale though... makes it almost the same as RC so I can't resist.
  17. Tropic Marin Pro Salt https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/tropic-marin-pro-reef-salt This is what I use and it's only $53.19 right now for auto delivery. Pretty good price.
  18. Please move if this is not allowed here. I won rock flower anemones from a WAMAS member gws3 at the fall meeting. It was extremely generous of him to offer them up for raffle and I was (am) extremely happy with them. He has some of the most beautiful anemone and they are very healthy. It has been less than a month and they are all doing very well...even doubled in size. Just want to say thank you again and would definitely recommend his rock anemone. 19. @OrigamiThe bubbles are mostly gone, but I have to pad the return to prevent creation of bubbles to the return pump. I took a short video of the current state of the tank. You can see the back side has major algae problems but the tangs seems to keep down quite well. I am thinking about maybe growing Cyphastrea in the back but I have not decided yet. Sorry about the cheesy music... it's better than listening to my dogs being annoying. I am thinking of turning the 65 gallon into a mean fish tank. The puffer is currently in it right now... he was being bad a couple of weeks ago. I got some very nice zoas from other reefers at the meeting and he ended up eating them.
