  1. Everything. not much in the way of softies, other than zoas and some shrooms, but If I can find the right ones, id happily add them. No clams yet, but there definitely will be
  2. Price is a big issue for me too, tho. If i KNEW it was absolutely going to work, I could save up for 2 reefLED 50 type prices...I’ve already wasted over $400 on fixtures that I hate, so it’s worth it for something Id know would work, but I dunno if I could afford the best stuff that lots of the amazing looking tanks are using:/ I don’t do any of that complicated color adjusting, other than turning up and down whites and blues, which it sounds like your saying is what you CAN do on the ReefLEDs. Im a total beginner when it comes to any specific wavelengths/ tweaking other color levels of a fixture...other than the simple adjusting of the blue/white levels, I mean. The simpler, and less stuff to mess with, the better, for me i have an 8tube T5 fixture, which was fantastic, so if I was going back to dealing with T5s again, I’d probably just go back to that, and forget all about the complicated LEDs. Do they even have LED/T5 fixtures, or would it have to be different ones for LEDs and T5s?
  3. Someone recommended I go with a reefLED 50 to flat out replace my current LeD fixture, and they look beautiful, and won’t leave me with either too dim blue, or bright enough ugly yellow/white, and would of course eliminate the need for an additional bright actinic/violet strip(orphek or reefbrite). It’s just a 55gal, so 2 of them would give each one just a 24” wide, upto 21” deep area to Illuminate. This would be my 3rd, and ABSOLUTE last attempt at ever using LEDs again, so I’d want to be completely, totally, incredibly 100% sure that would give my tank the beautiful look I’ve been trying to find since halides and T5s.
  4. Yeah, if that’s the one that comes with a plug already attached, and can have the strip plugged right in, that’s the one for me, alright!
  5. Are they just plug into the wall and plug the strip into it on the other end, instead of the other supply, or the kind of thing you need to actually splice the wires together, yourself?
  6. Thanks very much for your help!
  7. Oh, so I would still get the reefbrite LED strip or whatever, but then replace the power supply with a non-Chinese one?
  8. I can’t find meanwell LEDs anywhere
  9. I just realized that since i was directly responding to your response, I should’ve quoted you, so you got a notification. It’s too late to edit the original response now, so ...... *NOTIFICATION*
  10. Awesome! So glad to hear from someone who has 1st hand with both kinds of lights! So which seem to be better as far as how things look/pop? I’m glad to hear u haven’t had any problems with the reefbrite.
  11. I was just recommended that I try an orphek strip instead of a reef brite, because reefbrite is problematic, and orphek is better/looks better in general. I’m hoping to get some input from anyone who has experience with both, or even just experience with orphek, so I can hear how they compare, or just how good orpheks are, in general. Because of the potential reefbrite dangers, and orphek being much less expensive, I’m definitely leaning towards orphek, but I haven’t heard any 1st hand input yet, so if you can help me out, that’d be great! Second hand input is perfectly welcome too! Or third, or...ANY input is welcome!
  12. Has anyone heard about reefbrites having a danger of something in the power source burning? I’ve been trying to get a reefbrite, but I just heard about that being a reoccurring problem with them, and it it really worried me! Does anyone know if there are any comparable strips that are as good as reefbrite?
  13. Awesome, thanks so much for the info, I’ll definitely look into it!
  14. Yeah, but sadly I didn’t find anything I could fix:/ ...well, only sadly in the way that I would have figured out what’s wrong, of course
  15. Oh yeah, I know they’re not ideal choices, but it’s about those angels specifically, not just trying to find reef safe angels. The regal can, and would be going into a FOWLR, but I was just wondering, cause it’d b such a beautiful reef addition and tank centerpiece, if at all possible, and I could still make livestock adjustments if it would be the difference.
  16. Everything in my tank is doing just fine or better, EXCEPT this maze colony, and a frag of the same, or very similar type of brain, which are slowly dying back. The rest of them looks fine, but they’ve been receding for a couple weeks now(thankfully very slowly). I actually had another small colony of a different type of maze, die the same way, just prior to this. I have other brains, and even maze brain drags that r still doing just fine. The 2 currently affected aren’t in the same spot. I did a dip very early on, but there didn’t seem to be any difference, so I haven’t done any since. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to help my little guy?
  17. From what I’ve always heard bicolor angels are generally reef safe. Does anyone have experiences? Also, does anyone know what kinds of corals regal angelfish pick on?
  18. Thanks very much:) yeah, I was really expecting it to regenerate a body at that point, cause it was so active for SO long. As soon as I saw some parts falling off, I tried to be positive, but pretty much lost hope. Oh well. I’ll just get a full one someday:)
  19. Yeah, you were right, it wasnt a good thing. It finished dissolving a couple days after it started dropping pieces:/
  20. Oh yeah, duh, I forgot the most obvious sign....the downward growth is completely contrary to the direction of the flow. If it was the flow, I’d imagine it would grow in the same direction as the flow, right?
  21. I guess it could be too much light, but nothing else is showing any signs of heavy light exposure. The ponape(the one in question)doesn’t even have great coloring, but not faded/bleaching either. Wouldn’t it have either great color, or be fading if it was so much light that it had to grow downwards? I think I can safely say it definitely isn’t from too much current(hmmm....that doesn’t make sense, does it? I THINK I can DEFINITELY say? Lol), cause there’s very little current in the tank—I’m going to step it up when I overhaul it. It IS in the direct flow of the sump return, but its so far from being heavy that the zoas in between it and the flow, don’t get blown hard, and you can see the grandis just gently leaning, not being forced over
  22. This is the other birds nest frag I have(just a few inches from the other), and as u can see its SLIIIIIIIIIIIGHTLY branching downwards, but not enough to really even have a second thought about it if not for the other one.
  23. Why thank you lol. Now u can see how picture perfect it is!
  24. lol I can barely follow that article! Too much unfamiliar scientific term usage! I did get the gist, but it doesn't seem to go over the regrowth of the full body, just of the arm.
