  1. Awesome, thanks so much! Are u sure about 4 being scrambled eggs? I have those, but they have white centers. This picture looks like it’s pretty well colored out, so I would’ve thought the white would be showing. If they’re not scrambled eggs, might you have any thoughts on what else they might be?
  2. ACTUALLY, starting about a week after this, one of my hammers, my most expensive one, started dying back with jelly, so I couldn’t help briefly wondering if there was any correlation, but nothing came off in the multiple heavy dips. Sadly but Thankfully, it’s a branching, so only the one side with 3 very close heads, died off. The last head is a good couple inches away, so hopefully it’ll be fine:/
  3. AHHHHHHhhhhhh, yes, thankfully I’ve never had any problems with them. In fact, as far as I can remember at the moment, this may be the only pest worm/slug I’ve ever had, and thankfully I got it before it got into my tank.......or so I believe, so far:/ I’d imagine any spawn would have long since made their presence known.
  4. Awesome, thanks very much! I’ve seen some sites that have lists online, but they don’t have that many! These might have been on some of the lists I saw, but I had spent hours searching through zoa lists, and then I came across these pics, and then I thought about going BACK through the lists, and....well, I didn’t care about IDing these zoas THAT much, at that point lol. i haven’t been accepted to the Facebook list yet, so I’ll be amazed and thrilled if they are, but it would be awesome if somewhere(also)listed zoas by color(s). That would make IDing zoas real easy! If I knew anything about actually DOING stuff with computers, I’d spearhead it! Lol
  5. That’s good, cause yours looks awesome, that’s cool that u got to keep it with no problems. Did u keep seeing it, or just the one time? thats about the size of the one I had. I feel bad cause I started getting attached to it by watching it for awhile. I felt really bad getting rid of it:(
  6. Do euphyllia flatworms attack elegances? I’ve been hoping to find a list of stuff they attack, cause I just find it hard to believe they specifically JUST attack euphyllia and not any of the many other similar corals like elegances, bubble&grapes, and fox(where have all the fox corals gone????)...even scolys, donuts&meats, and other super fleshy topped corals.
  7. Did u have euphyllia in ur tank? Cause I’ve been reading all over about how nasty they are. Luckily if u have them, they can only hide for a short time when they’re still small
  8. Ohhhhhh, gotcha, so the dipping doesnt kill the eggs?
  9. Did the fish all just hang out, staring right at the return from the frag part?
  10. That’s what I was thinking! I knew it’s HUUUUUU-U-U-U-U-UGE compared to some flatworms, but I didn’t know if there were others that were big like this one. No, I didn’t really check again, I just immediately put them back into the bucket. The big hammer was in the tank for a good couple minutes:( hopefully if there were still any on the corals, they wouldn’t just leave an otherwise healthy big hammer, and we’re taken back out:/
  11. Holy carp, ur right! It’s a euphyllia eating flatworm:( just to be safe, I’m double dipping them, with much a higher strength dip! I feel bad, cause I was starting to like the little thing...I was hoping I would put him in the tank let him happily do his thing.......if it wasn’t destructive:(
  12. It’s totally flat. It makes those ruffles on its side come up when it moves, but when it also can slide totally flat along the surface. Also, it doesn’t have the nudi bunny ears.
  13. Ahhhhhh!!! I was wondering what happened to torches recently! I doubt that explains the huge shift from awhile longer ago than that, although maybe it’s from a similar situation. Back in the day, I don’t remember just how “back”, but I’m guessing as recent as 10-15 years ago, which sadly is starting to feel pretty recent lol, the generic “torch coral” from what I always around and used to, was the beautiful long flowey, bright green tentacles with super bright green, sometimes yellow tips. That was what the cheap, dime-a-dozen, “boring ol’ torch” was. Even just from captive specimens, shouldn’t they still be around, if not actually still common? But no, when I DO see a similar one these days, it’s rarely as nice looking, and it has some crazy name and goes for $150-300/head, instead of the $25-$35/head they used to be:( thankfully that’s not just the general coral inflation rate!!! Hopefully torches will start going down soon, once more have been brought into the market, and more people are splitting and selling what they have! I’d love to be able to afford some of those beauties around!
  14. I just got some corals in, and after a couple hours of dripping, I lowered the water to the limit and did a 5minute dip of “reef dip” and melafix, and when I was putting the 3rd/last thing in unnoticed something had been loose in the bucket next to it....a HUGE(I think) flatworm!!!! It got damaged so it broke itself in half, but here are the halves. I need help quick, cause after about a minute in the tank, I took them all back out and put them back in the bucket, but I need to know what to do! I already diluted the bucked way down with tank water, so they won’t be harmed by too much dip time. pics 1,4&8 r the butt end which is very slowly moving, and pics 2,3,5,6&7 are the larger front part, which is pretty active. The last picture has my finger so you can see how big its butt is, but the head/front is significantly larger.
  15. Isn’t there an indo ban, or something?
  16. Lol thanks, people say I should be an artist! i dunno for sure, but I think the one of them just has the seal I made around the hole break, cause it totally fills with air within like 30seconds or less, but the other one I don’t know, cause it can last for months without stopping from air inside, so if it was a crack(well, in fact, or anything else I can think of) it would consistently fill with air in just a short period of time, instead of lasting for so long:/
  17. like this. I made a SLIGHTLY smaller than airline tube hole in the very top of the U tube, and squeezed the end of the tube just inside the hole, without having it stick through the hole more than a few millimeters, so there wouldn’t be any inaccessible space for air to be stuck, and then I globed the heck out of the area with silicone and a ton of super glue. It’s worked for many many years now, but one of the 2 U tubes has begun to leak air, so it doesn’t work, and the other one works pretty well. It can go many weeks without needing to be drained of air, but then other times I have to do it a few times in a day or 2. I could just reseal them, but If there’s a way that works better than that, I’d like to find it. I’m not sure how air ever gets caught in there, cause even through the years of it working well, it would still periodically fill with air every few months or so. There’s water coming down the airline hose nonstop, just like a non-electric aqualifter, so when it stops it must get flooded by a significant amount of air at once, cause any small amounts of air just get sucked down the airline. *the other end of the airline goes way down into the sump water, so no air can get into it that way.
  18. Oh yeah, I know yellows really show affect from actinics, but in my experience they don’t change colors, just the intensity and such, but being that this one is pale under the actinics, maybe it’s one of the usually highly affected colors that on rare occasions isn’t. There’s greens now and then that don’t show any increased color, which is always surprising, and even reds and oranges that “ignore” actinic boosts, so maybe this is a yellow like that? I guess it’s not as big a deal to me anymore anyway, since finally half my tank has the added actinic boost:)
  19. Man, that really makes it uncomfortably iffy:/ I guess one could hook just the lifter up to a timer and have it run for 15 minutes every so long, so that might only take care of one of the issues. I(try to)keep my sump with only enough water above the pump, to put the tank to the brim, but that’s only recently. Oh wow, I must have had 2 dozen overflows over the decades, which is why my 2nd story floor now has to be completely torn out and redone lol! Turns out my room got so hot with the halides and other lights cause I didn’t get good AC airflow, because the saltwater that drained down into the vent had totally rusted away the metal piping lol. At least that gives me high hopes for future room cooling!
  20. Yeah, I noticed that. It’s such a pale light colored yellow tho, I’m not really sure what the heavy actinics would even b doing to it, I’d much of anything at all?
