The two cross braces should be turned the other way. Assuming that is the bottom, when you lay plywood for a sump, it won't dip in the middle. I would also put 2 more cross braces on the other side of the legs as well. I wish I took more pics as I was building my stands.. Make sure the 2x4s for the top are resting on the legs and NOT screwed into the sides putting all the weight on screws and glue.

If it is drywall on both sides make sure you are not going to hit a stud. The cleanest way to cut a circle in drywall is to use a hole saw bit like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-Daredevil-2-in-Wood-Hole-Saw-with-Arbor-HCD200/206703601 make sure it is slightly wider than the pipe. You may need an extender if there is drywall on both sides, you can also measure each side to line up the holes as well. If you want to give it a finished look you can use a flange or grommet like these Grommet: https://www.homedepot.com/b/Search/N-5yc1vZc956/Ntk-Extended/Ntt-grommet?Ntx=mode+matchpartialmax&NCNI-5 these are for cable managment but work well in this application.You can also use a plastic flange: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Westbrass-3-5-in-Plastic-Disposal-Flange-in-Powdercoated-White-D2091-50/310265754 You may want to use a union so you never have to remove the pipe in the wall if you need to move the pipe or sump. Just wanted to thank the speaker as well as everyone at WAMAS who organize the quarterly meetings. The information passed along in the meetings and on the forums are so worth the tiny fee regardless of experience. It’s also great to put faces to usernames and chat. I know she mentioned this in the presentation but I just wanted to remind any new reefers about using the Bayer dip. While it’s a great low stress dip for corals, it will kill anything with a nervous system, which is pretty much everything else in your tank. Remember to rinse the corals very well after the dip. Wear protection for your eyes, hands and mouth and keep your dogs and cats away until after cleanup.

Any tips for keeping stainless fragging tools free of rust? I wash with freshwater after use and still get rust on some of my stainless tools.

They do ship corals from OZ. They are, in my experience, more expensive than corals shipped from other locations. At the wholesale level they tend to put restrictions on some pieces ie. to buy a single aussie gold torch you must by 6 green torches etc etc. I would expect something labeled "Aussie" would be more expensive in a retail setting. Is the piece really from OZ? How much do you trust the seller. I have never purchased a coral just because it had "aussie" in front of it. When I make a purchase I look at health/color/seller etc. I also always ask how long have you had the coral. Personally I am not interested in buying anything from a retailer that "just came in". No matter how nice the piece, the risk of the coral dying, not to mention pests and eggs, is much higher than buying a piece that has been tanked or farmed in an aquarium for a long period of time. All The rest have been thriving for years in my system....
