  1. I have that same problem when trying to upload pics directly from my phone. Sump is looking good!
  2. This is going to be a sweet tank! If you ever make it near woodbridge I can hook you up with either rubble or algae. Let me know.
  3. That is an impressive run for a firefish. I have had a few of those go carpet surfing within the first week. Well done sir!
  4. You are right about that, and when you factor in parking. . . there goes frag money for the month!
  5. I never change my light schedule and have, thus far, not seen any frag adversely impacted. The previously shaded frags should start coloring up in a week or two.
  6. No need to worry at all on this one. Using tap water for the saltwater mix you cure your rock in is just fine. Let the rock cure and change the water in a few weeks (during which you should take a brush to the rock and knock off any "gunk" that you can). No need to rinse the rock in RO/DI after the curing is complete (unless it will give you peace of mind).
  7. I agree with both above posters. If you want to up the temp, just put the heater in with it set at 79. On the other hand, like Kim says, there is no reason you cannot have the tank at a slightly lower temp.
  8. I have seen this on a few pieces. Most notably, on my rainbow stylo which has bubbled spots almost constantly (I think this is a reproduction mechanism though). Although, I have never seen it on my green birdsnest which is what this piece appears to be.
  9. I run the Jebao DP4 and love it. Stable, set and forget performance for under $100 shipped to your door!
  10. I wanted a piece of the H@rry Kari also, but he didn't have it listed. Nice piece for sure!
  11. Do you have any Rubbermaid storage containers that you can use temporarily? That would save you from needing to buy a new tank for this.
  12. Just wanted to share a positive experience I had with this seller. His shipping methods were impressive, and he offers free shipping when you buy five or more frags (no $ amount minimum). His listed inventory fluctuates, but I ordered the following: Pearlberry SnipersSPS Pink Selago Misty Blue and he threw in a tricolor for free! All corals were showing great PE by the first hour of being in the tank, which I think is great for something shipped overnight. I highly recommend this seller (although his pictures don't do the actual pieces justice)!
  13. I always had issues with keeping my alk stable. I got a dosing pump and am dosing sodium bicarbonate which keeps alk rock solid (aside from adjusting based on growth of coral mass).
  14. Sorry to hear about the leak, but you know this also means you could go bigger. . . nothing makes an aquarium look better than more corals and fish
  15. I agree with all the above, and I also do not worry (too much) about phosphates and nitrates. I do sporadically test for these, but I do so in order to put them into my spreadsheet for record purposes in the event that anything goes drastically wrong. My corals always exhibit increased polyp extension after I stir up my sand bed or blow off the rocks, and, to me, that indicates that they are getting some form of nutrition from the detritus. Plus, I use tap water for WCs :0
  16. Looking good! Be sure to post a pic of the finished product
  17. Do not use acrylic. I made that mistake before; it will eventually bow and break free from the silicone you use to hold it in place. I think the glass I used in my 30g sump is 1/8" (whatever size is commonly used for windowpanes will be fine). Lowes should be able to cut you all the glass you will need for baffles, but be sure to measure twice and cut once
  18. I use a simple air pressure switch which controls an outlet into which I plug a Tom's Aqualifter pump. Total cost for the system was around $20 and it has been working flawlessly for over 4 years. Whatever system you get, I think that the air pressure switches are the way to go. With using one of these, you avoid any possible issues arising from the switch getting stuck.
  19. Dave, Mine have laid two clutches in the last three months. When they manage to lay another clutch I will reach out to see if you are still looking for some.
  20. Indeed we will I (actually my whole family) am glad to be sticking around. This is a pretty nice place we live in.
  21. I wonder who will be the first to "wheeze the juice" https://youtu.be/YenjDNBw57M
