  1. The copper meds(cupramine)specifically say to be sure to turn off UV sterilizers, but that just doesn't seem right to me. How coulda a UV sterilizer have any affect whatsoever on copper? A sterilizer would make treatment like a million times better, but it says to turn it off. I dont want to do anything to hinder treatment at ALL, but the amount of additional help the UV would do working TOGETHER, is too much to not look into.
  2. Hey Everyone, I had a bad case of either ich or velvet or fish bird flu and need to run fallow for the 72 day period. Problem is, I need to house my lawnmower blenny and a VERY cool red dragonette (the one with yellow fins). Since my qt tank is only 10 gallons, I dont think I will be able to keep them alive for the 72 day period. Can anyone suggest a new home for these guys while I try to set things straight? Everyone else succumbed to the disease. Dan
  3. So, I've not had good luck since my husband left for work this month... 5 dead fish.... Skimmer pump dead... And now this! I'm assuming its a zoa eating nudi, but please correct me ...and hopefully I am wrong...
  4. The entire quart bag of LFS was accidentally spilled into my 90 gallon. A week later, ICH!!! 2 weeks after the spill, I moved all 4 into the hypo tank. Should I have waited for the inhabitants to ride out the Ich? Hippo tang is not scratching on the rock. It shows no sign of oxygen deprivation. Yellow tang is tough - Spotless Flaming angel has some spots behind the eyes Clown has some spots - she's sad - But she's always sad. The biggest winner of all, the Ich Magnet
  5. I need some help, I have never run into ich before luckily, but I have only had my 55 reef tank up for a year. I do see what looks like some discoloration on my copperband butterfly's tail fin. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I don't want it spreading to my other fish. I just got the copperband a few days ago, he was eating at the LFS so I took him in good hope that he would eat in my tank. He has been picking off the rocks but hasn't eaten any mysis, kril, brine or pellets yet so I'm still trying. But I really don't know how to identify it, and want to take preemptive action. Thanks, and check out the pics I hope it helps.
