  1. thanks! I know seem to be some kind of moss though! Find this old page with the same unknown algae: http://www.rl180reef.com/180/pages/odd_critters/algae/redalgae.htm I recalled someone here is an expert on algae. Just can't remember who!
  2. I got these red algae growing on the surface of my sump only in the first chamber where overflow DT water come in. I don't see it anywhere else in the refugium. grow in a clump like patterns and rough. Like to get a positive ID please.

    Red algae

    From the album: Chuck's 125+150

  4. looks like aeolid nudi (bad for zoas)
  5. From what I read and other people, Red slime usually cause by phosphate (forgot to mention, I also run phosban reactor) The red slime can suffocate your corals too. Reducing light will starve algae! Oh! try changing feeding. Instead of feed every other day, feed smaller portion everyday.I am guessing maybe you feed too much @ once and your fish did not eat all. Good luck...Hope someone else can chime in for more advices
  6. Yeah! they should adjust after awhile.
  7. Reduce your light cycle! I also control it by doing a 36-48 hours total light out. Works well for me. Good luck
  8. Very nice!
  9. I personally observed that BTAs usually bubble up when they are small or when they are being relocated or newly introduce to the tank (possible stress related). This RBTA was newly introduced to my tank. Bubble up! It's has no bubble before I put it into the new tank.

  13. I noticed mine does that when I move it to area with brighter light. did you change your light bulbs or lighting?
  14. One will most likely killed the other. I'd get rid the condy. it's cheap and also does not host clownfish.
  15. Looks like it. But will takes a loooooong time before it totally fade out! I am guessing 10+ years!
  16. Give it chunk of raw shrimp or silverside. Drop food by it's tentacles and it take it in by itself. Don't force into the mouth. Looking good! 2-3 times a week
  17. Following along! I have the same issue only on these two (green digitata and green millipora). I nipped off those too but seem to be slowly continue. If it alk burn, why not the other sps?
  18. Honestly! You want to replace the sump that only 10-11 gallons different. I personally don't think it worth the time doing that. If you really need to upgrade (go bigger)! your sump go with a 75 or 90 or even a 120!
  19. Sure! I have room.
  20. Big different with LEDs! Mine LEDs tank (basement) @ 82-83 without fan. Run the fan cooled it down to 80. Used to run T-5 on this one. Temp ~ 82-83 during summer month with the cooling fan full blast. The 29G (upstairs) running T-5 with no cooling fan. Topped out today @ 85 OUCH!!! (fish and anemones seem okay) I can't imagine what it would like to run MH!
  21. So it was you! been looking for the guy that sold me one!
  22. Cool! What happen to the 2-40b idea?
  23. That is insane!
  24. Looks okay. Should recover quickly.
  25. All ballast hums (harmonic), but newer electronic ones are pretty quiet. maybe loose ballast (since humming goes away). Try tighten the screw(s) before you replace it. Good luck
