  1. Floor all dry, but still humid in the basement. 75%-80%. I am continue to run the floor fan for a few more days to see if humidity drop down to 70%. Maybe the water from the tank create all this humidity. might have to get a dehumidifier or install exhaust fan. - sps colony has not rnt since...hopefully will recover and grow back!
  2. It would help alot if you can pull the carpet partially up and dry the padding below. If not, get a floor fan or carpet blower to help dry faster. I hope done with flooding. But with this hobby, it's going to be hard!
  3. Flood #2! Wife not as mad! Looks like she's used to it. Man the humidity shot up to 90% down in the basement. Windows opened and running floor blower to dry the floor. Hopefully humidity will drop back down! Not superstitious, but maybe I should change my screen name!
  4. No more $$ for floor drain and tons of dyi project to do this summer.

    DIY Lid

Very nice! I too spent $$ trying to make one for my 93 cube out of thin glass (failed, break easily), then 1/4" acrylic (failed, warped). Acrylic sandwiched with glass (failed, silicone don't stick well to glass). Now, I found a couple of the old aquarium glass lids, work well. The only down side is to remove multiple pieces of glass when cleaning. Also, I have a 1/2" acrylic lid (20"x20") on my rodi reservoir. The lid also have a 1" acrylic support across the middle. However, lid is slightly warped from water moisture. However, looking back at your design, you have lots of slots on it. This might actually work better as it might not retain as much moisture in it. Good luck. Let me know how it work out down the road.
  6. Aaaahhhh! Stu..id me! Woke up this morning and though, oh crap! Forgot to shut off the rodi water. No worries, I have an asov in place!! Ran down stair and basement got wet again. Fish room had almost 2" of water. Pull out the 2 shopvac and hope to clean up before the wife found out! But can't get past her Turned out that the hose I used to get my water out of the Rodi reservior pinned down the float valve and prevent it from trigger the pressure on the asov! What a dum$ mistake! Well on the bright side! I get to clean my own basement floor for free!!!
  7. This! The thin glass is adequate for sump application. Also, I used carbide block to smooth the upper edges the glass.
  8. no, I am pretty certain that's not the work if the hammer. It's pretty far from the hammer. Looks close because of the pic angle.
  9. I think I figured out why I get rtn once a while. I been using one of those alk tester that has 3 colors chart. High, normal and low. I have always got "normal" but I think it's might be on the border. Recently, I discovered that I have another alk tester in my box and test result yield that my alk is around 6.5 dkh. So I believed my rtn's caused by alk swing. Over the past week I raised alk to around 8. Looks like my kalwasser could not keep up with the demand. Will have to do supplement manual dose until I figure out how to adjust the kalwasser.
  10. Nah! I am not going to try to frag it. I had tried unsuccessfully many time when my other colony rtn. fortunately, i still have the mini colony and a few frags
  11. ahhhh! there go my sps blue green acro colony!!! seem to happen to a colony once a year. Last year, this colony rtn but recovered. Looks like this time it's a goner!
  12. Congrats buddy! Richard and I are on your list right? Those SPS are sweet in person. WAMAS is going to get a heck of a deal soon.
  13. You can give it away/sale to people to use as reptile tank or possibly repair it. Scoop out water with a cup and then use Car wash sponge or a bath towel to remove the rest of the water from the tank.
  14. I used a regular hole saw to drilled mine. it's better if you can get one with finer teeth. Just go slowly . Also, cut out a hole on a piece of plywood and use it as a template. Like this:
  15. Made a video of the tanks during feeding time.
  16. Just saw the post! Petsolutions Buy 2 boxes to get free shipping 10% off code MAY10. Expire tonight @ midnight
  17. Just did my first water change on the system today. Took 30 minutes, but I am looking into ways to knocked it down to 15 minutes. here are some photos after the water change. 93 cube 210: left side center right
  18. I doubt it specifically made for spectra rodi. A booster pump is a boostet pump and should be able to use it with any brand water filter. Double check your connections. You might have your input/output in reversed!
  19. Looks very nice and clean! How thick is the acrylic?
  20. Well, got a few stuffs done on the list. - building a light hanging bracket. - build removable front bottom panel(s). - build front top access door or panels. - insulate the fish room - set up rodi station. - fish related storage <<<------- Got some storage shelving, but still have ton of stuffs laying around!! WHY???? - insulate the whole basement and install drywall one side of the basement and clean up. Will have to take my time on finishing the basement.
  21. Go with option B. If you attached to your fish, then sell your corals and keep the fish. I recently moved all my livestock and it was no fun. Also, trying to keep 2 places running at once is financially challenge. the first few months is okay, but after that you can feel it.
  22. thanks
  23. None!
  24. Best way to test it yourself. here is a great video on how to test your glass.
  25. Thanks, I searched a few companies online. Just want to see if anyone here used one or recommending one.
