I received the attached coral from a fellow WAMAS member a few years ago. I am not sure what it is. It looks like its growing like a spongode. It fuzzy with polyps when they are out. The skin looks wet and shiny when they the polyps disappear. Sorry about the picture i had to resize to a small quadrant to get it to post. only 6.8KB allowed to upload?

Are you able to buff out the ridges for a cleaner look? and how sturdy is the printed product?

I have a lavender mille you would have thought it was a monti the way it was growing for about a year. It is about 6 inches round encrusting on a rock. I moved a power head to give it more flow and i have an explosion of growth. 5 branch heads have sprouted each about half an inch right now. So excited to finally get some branches on this.

Very cool idea. What are you thinking of putting inside? What about a tube anenome?

So the big question is would you use this salt or stick with reef crystals?

I read on Reef 2 Reef that the live aquaria salt may be Fritz RPM repackaged. And in reading on Fritz there are complaints on salt batches varying from batch to batch. Not sure this is true but now curious who live aquaria is sourcing from or if they are producing

So i need salt and i cannot find any sales on Reef Crystals. Thinking of making the leap to try this live aquaria brand. I feel like it may be too soon since it just came out. i am having good results with Reef Crystal slow and steady and do not want to jinx it. Is saving $10 worth it probably not. I may have answered my own question and just buy reef crystals. In any case has anyone heard of any good salt sales for Reef Crystals?

i have not logged onto my ecotech account for several weeks. So no changes were made on our part?

I woke up this morning to find the lights on my tank on? I have not changes the schedule so I find it weird that lights would be on when they are scheduled to be off. Has anyone had this issue before? I am going to reprogram my lights just in case. I can't imagine what would happen if ecotech was hacked...

Our power shut down today due to the storm. i had purchased the Ecotech Battery back up several years ago. Checking the manufacturer date this was built in 2013. Gladly I had never needed it till today. Unfortunately the battery never turned on or worked? It worked when I purchased the product years back but In looking back I should have made a schedule to check on it. Luckily we had battery powered pumps that worked till our power came on. Anyone else go through this?

Hello WAMAS family! We are planning a trip to BVI and wanted to see if anyone has any connections to conservation programs in the area. We would love to help out a local coral farm with any maintenance or assist curbing the Lionfish population. I read BVI still does not allow spearfishing so maybe this will be only in St. Thomas. Any tidbits or recommendations is greatly appreciated. We will be going in July. Thanks!

When i first started i had algae issues as well. My tank was a mess with Dino and algae growing covering corals . we covered our tank and let to black it out for three days. The corals were unharmed and the algae disappeared but later came back. We let three weeks go by and did the same as well as heavy water changes. But there was some algae still left. It was not until i added a dual reactor that i saw a complete change in the tank. Carbon and GFO. Ever since then i no longer have had any issues. I change the two reactors each month.

Checking to see if you guys are planning on doing another group salt order one of these days?
