  1. I think this is the one, thank ya
  2. Just got some free live rock and found this guy in my tank. Kinda looks like a blenny. But was wondering if anyone could properly I.D. it. If I'm in the wrong section please direct me to where I should go in the case of this happening again. Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm a couple hours from Gaithersburg I believe, I'm in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. I can't seem to confirm whether or not if it's ich. I've had a couple ich experiences with my fresh water tanks and in those cases the white dots with smaller and there were a lot more. On this fish it's just the two very defined spots. He hides in the rocks while he sleeps so I'm going to try and get him into the quarantine tank tonight just to monitor his behavior and the other fish as well for the next couple weeks. If he starts getting more spots within the next couple days I'll know I need to remove the other fish and treat them as well.
  4. I do have a separate tank just for quarantine, I've never done cooper treatment. But I can look up more on how to do it and what tests to purchase.
  5. I'm relatively new to the salt water hobby, I've been doing freshwater for years. So this information is great thank you. I will try and set a trap to get him back into quarantine. What should I treat him with?
  6. The Dottyback was the last addition. Added him about a month ago, had him in quarantine for about 5 weeks. In total I have had the fish a little over 2 months. I didn't treat him in quarantine because the LFS informed me that they treat all fish, I basically just wanted to keep him away from my main display. Then noticed this today. If it's ich I will definitely get him out and back into quarantine to treat.
  7. I have a yellow tang, two yellow tail damsels and two clowns. Everyone seems peaceful. The dottyback has claimed this main rock as his territory. He'll chase off the damsels if they get too close. I don't put my hands into the tank but he couldve been startled from something else I suppose. I suspected ich as well but wouldn't that show up all over the fish? All I'm seeing is those two spots and nothing is showing up on the others.
  8. I'm trying to determine what this might be. He's got two white specks on either side of his body and what appears to be a scrape. I'm hoping he tried squeezing through the rocks and it's just a wound and not ich or some kind of fungus. I tried to post a video but it wouldn't let me. Pictures are are best as I could do, I can definitely try to get better shots though if no one can figure it out from these. Please let me know what your thoughts are and what I should do to treat this guy or if he'll be okay just by doing water changes I did one yesterday when I noticed it. Thank you.
  9. I can't get a good picture from the top of it. Each head looks to have about 7-8 tentacles they're all very tiny. They close up when the lights go out and open up during the day when the lights are on like a soft coral would do. I just wasn't sure my tank was fully established to grow corals yet if that's what these little things are lol and they are growing. yes, the Kenya tree was originally on this rock. I've just never seen a Kenya tree this tiny before. If that's what it is. The plans for this tank is just something small and aesthetically pleasing for my bedroom. Nothing too fancy or high tech. some soft corals and a couple fish.
  10. Sorry I know the picture isn't the best quality. At first I was thinking it might be newly starting branches from my Kenya Tree? Could this possibly be what it is? The Kenya tree was one this rock, but I put it in my other tank. I've just never seen anything this small before.
  11. So I put a piece of live rock in from my lfs about 3 weeks ago to help cycle my 12g nano tank and this morning I was doing some tests on the water quality and noticed this growing. Can anyone tell me what this might be? There's about 5-7 heads that I can see. They're all in that one spot on that white sponge. I didn't see it necessary to remove it at the time but now things are growing from it. Any thoughts or advice will help. Thanks in advance.
  12. It does look like some sort of sponge, I moved the kenya to a different location so it had a better flow and they fell off. I took them out of the tank because I wasn't sure what they were.
  13. I'm new to the hobby. This is my first coral (Kenya tree) I picked it up a few days ago from my LFS in Winchester. I'm just noticing this circular balls on the base of the coral. Any help as to what they are would be greatly appreciated.
  14. feel free to stay in touch I'm looking for some local fish hobbyists and reefers that might wanna go to some events together or do some frag trades I don't know anyone around here interested in the hobby. I'm about to start up a 100g long reef and it's always nice knowing some people to talk to about what to get next or what to skip.
