  1. Quantum Reef had black egg crate in last time I was there.
  2. Awesome! Just what everyone needs for Valentine's days
  3. A kessil would cover that and be more than enough should you decide to upgrade in the future. Check out Quantum Reef - they have a bunch of them up over their tank so you can see what they look like.
  4. Looks like it's eating a bird
  5. Put something like this in line with your sink's cold water feed, just after the vavle that sticks out of the wall/ Then a valve off of the 1/4" side. You'll be able to remove everything when you're ready to leave and it'll be like it was never there. http://www.lowes.com...ing|1= Edit: Yeah, what Tom said.
  6. Yeah, definitely position thing to make the most frequently accessed items easily available. If it's not, eventually you'll end up putting it off more than you should. At least you will if you're a professional procrastinator like me
  7. I got to see this one today... it looks amazing in person. Not that it's a bad picture Billy
  8. Yep, I'm usually like a kid waiting for Christmas morning
  9. NICE! That new acro colony will be getting a bunch of my tickets for sure! I've gotten some of those before and they've turned out very nice. Thanks for the donations John!
  10. Thanks for this usefull post Tony. I'm in the process of setting up a 200 DD and was assuming I'd need 4 of these fixtures. This confirms it.
  11. I've used newspaper since I was a kid to clean glass. Works better than just about anything else for trying off whatever spray you're using. To get rid of streaks on the tank, I just do what was mentioned by Ron above, water and little elbow grease. If the streak doesn't go away the first time, give a spritz more water and wipe it down with a clean towel or newspaper and you're good to go!
  12. I like the opening trio of dogfish.
  13. No kidding! My Mother doesn't even appreciate fish stores!
  14. Steve and Vince at Quantum Reefs kept me out too late, that's my only complaint with them! I've also spent approximately a boat load of money at BRK and no complaints there either. Incredible and ERC are the next placed I need to visit. I don't think I've had a truely bad experience at any of our sponsers. Thanks to everyone!
  15. wait for it....
  16. I agree. Thanks for all the responses, this has been a really great learning experience.
  17. So the low-micro bags will prevent and flatworms/redbugs/eggs from getting to the main system? I think that's what i'm reading there. If so, that'd make even more incentive to setup a coral quarantine, to me.
  18. What lights and pumps where responsible? That's horrible. I'd be totally detroyed if that happend to my dogs :(
  19. Lol at running your mouth. I was there way too late the other night learning a lot from Steve and Vince.
  20. I think line 10 should be something like kick back with a scotch or beer and enjoy Thanks for posting that - never having really done much dipping, that looks like a great way to start.
  21. I could NEVER have an acrylic tank. I wait way too long between glass cleanings and seem to always have some coraline on the glass somewhere.
  22. Do you have a dipping procedure for new stuff Tony? I'm starting to think the best, or safest anyway, thing to do with corals is to just quarantine them rather than dip for something that may or may not be there.
  23. That thing looks crazy. Some of the corals look like the are super huge. Where is this?
  24. Looking foward to seeing your scape Jake. Keep the update coming.
  25. I keep forgetting about the bayer dip. I'll have to try that one too once I actually remember to buy some of the bayer stuff. I'll try it on a frag that I grow out, hopefully.
