  1. It would depend on personal preference. As far as whether to go with the clumpy stuff or branching tonga, it depends on how you want to aquascape. If we saw picks we could give you are personal opinion. The little star fish may eat coraline algae. Believe it or not some people do not want coraline algae. It uses up calcium that could be used by coral.
  2. Up the road from Bristow. Aren't you in Woodbridge?
  3. I wouldn't risk having the tank break at any time. Too risky for me.
  4. Maybe some could lend you one, until you get yours. I know there were several for sale recently.
  5. The caption for the Coconut crab states "sold as a pet in some areas of the world". How would you like to go over to someones house for a BBQ and see that thing crawl out from under the table?
  6. Here are some updates: I went through some problems in the last couple of months. I had a huge hair algae problem. I was not feeding very heavy so was not sure what the problems were. All perameters seemed to be inline. My clean up crew started dieing, and as I replaced them, the new clean up crew died. I bought a Seahare. It died in three days.I lost most of my hard corals. But all my perameters seemed fine. As I was looking through the board I came across someone telling another member that they should soak there hydrometer in vinegar, because it could be giving them false readings. So I decided to do this, which showed me I was getting false reading on my Specific Gravity. It was reading off the chart, so it was over 1.032. That day I went and bought a Refractometer. Since then my problems started getting better. Because I had gone through 3 clean up crews, my nutrients were very high.I dosed vodka and slowly waited things out. I am now getting good growth and colors. So here is the tank today. The first two pics show the algae(no where near its worst)
  7. Looks good. Where did you get it?
  8. Really sorry to hear that. As a dog lover, and someone who has lost one before, I know your pain.
  9. I have mixed mine and used within 10 minutes. As long as temp, ph and other parameters are good.
  10. Mine is a month old and am having problems as well. Mine seems like a short or something of that sort. Sensors will only register if I wiggle the wires for the sensors where it connects to the box.
  11. Are you turning your skimmer off for 4 hrs after dosing BW Microbacter.
  12. It is a large tank. The camera pans every so often. It also zooms in and out.
  13. I was looking through the free section on Fios on Demand and found this. It is an Aquarium View in HD. There are two, but I only watched a little of one of them. Left it on while I did my water change. It is an hour long. Here are a couple of pictures I took of my TV.
  14. Most ick treatments are copper based, which is not reef safe. Cleaner shrimp may help. In my experience, ick is a losing battle.
  15. One of our members is willing to sell everything to raise money for his dogs surgery. I am going to the Frag Fest and will donate $20 to help. If others did this as well, it would really help him. If he is ok with this. http://www.wamas.org/forums/topic/38046-selling-everything/page__pid__326071__st__0entry326071
  16. I have two dogs myself. They are part of the family. I am sorry to hear about yours. Best of luck. I am also willing to hold anything for you.
  17. Have you looked into an RO unit. It will save you money and the pain in the rump.
  18. I am looking for Frag Fest info. When I click on the link for it, it gives info for the May 15th meeting. Can someone give me info?
  19. I believe it is a Gorilla Crab.
