  1. You could also try a trap if trying with the lights out doesnt work. They are expensive, so you may want to try and borrow one.
  2. Nice pics. I have been looking at Chalice coral for some time. I am now gonna be hunting to buy some.
  3. No change. I though the pin wheel would have arived Thursday, but no show. Though definetley Friday, but again no show. Hopefully I will have it soon.
  4. I will adjust like you describe. Yes, I am getting gunk around the neck. Not very stinky though.
  5. Actually I ordered the new pin wheel last nite. It should be here Thursday.
  6. Air inlet does not have a valve on it so it is wide open. I have the water level setting so it is just below the start of the collection cup. Which is 4" below the point of overflow. (means 4" of foam would be needed to oveflow into collection cup). Specific Gravity is 1.026.
  7. Bubbles are real fine. According to Dan at GSA, I have water level within the recommended depth.
  8. My tank was set up March 1, 2010. I used about 20lbs of live rock from my old tank. I have been using Microbacter 7 since setting up the tank. The first two weeks I followed the directions recommended for tank start up. Afterwards I followed the directions for maintenance. I currently have a Yellow Tang, a Flame Hawkfish, a Bicolor Pseudochromis, and a Ocellaris Clownfish. Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates are at zero. My skimmer (GSA GS1) is not producing any skimmate. It produces very little foam. If I close the valve enough I can get it to produce enough to flow into the collection cup, But it is very wet. Should I be producing more foam? Could it be that because the tank is so new there is nothing to remove at this point?
  9. WOW! What an important fact, I over looked. Thanks
  10. Looking to buy a red colored fish. I like the looks of a Catalina Goby. I also like the looks of some of the Red colored Wrasse, but am cocerned about jumping. Any other options that I am missing?
  11. +1 I agree with Jan about an article in the news letter. I have heard of several tank related acidents. If my memory serves me right, there was an injury of a member who breathed in fumes from Zoas.
  12. So if I understand correctly, I could connect the AC jr to my wireless lap top when I go on vacation and view online.
  13. Thanks. I am not sure what that is. Could you post a link? Do you know if the Neptune Systems Aqua Controller Jr is capable of doing this? http://www.neptunesys.com/~clp/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=40
  14. My next upgrade will likely be a controller. Not sure if any do what I want. I want one that I can monitor online, but wiring to my desk top is not an option. My desk top in in the basement, tank on second level. I have two lap tops that are set up to my router wirelessly. Will I be able to view the controller with this set up?

  16. Im sorry to about the fire. This thread proves one thing, That WAMAS has some great people in it. So many are offering to help. If there is any thing I can do to help let me know.
  17. The reason I ask, is my readings are at .5ppm. Many sites recommend putting a dead shrimp in to raise ammonia to start the cycle. If ammonia is at .5ppm, is this enough to start the cycle?
  18. Dan at Gray Sea Aquatics has parts for DIY. He also sells pre-made skimmers in that price range. He is local, located in Mount Vernon. He is also a member of WAMAS. Many people on WAMAS use his products, including myself. I just installed a GSA1 on my tank. Give his sight a visit. http://www.greyseasaquatics.com/
  19. I know you want ammonia high at the begining of the cycle, how high should it go to start the cycling process?
  20. Never seen one before. Interesting.
  21. Thanks. I agree on the Cherry. It was just a speed bump in the build.
  22. I accidently hit post when I was still adding pictures.
