So always been a mag 9 kinda guy for longevity and price and heat is nonissue.....ehiem 1262 pretty much tied for a good choice in my eyes Had a mag start leaking voltage after about 10 yrs use so no shocker there...see what I did? Trying to decide what to do next....still have my backup mag 9 but it's pretty old too. With the 80g don't need bigger....Plan on running manifold for 2 reactors and a ca rx so not a whole lot of extra pressure need. Only about 5 feet head pressure. Going to be internal If dc pump...what model company ....I know Waveline at least has a few years on the market....jaebo not too keen on with the wp40 issues I've had Don't have an apex...only old aciii pro Otherwise should I just find another ehiem or mag? Any other suggestions are welcome....not looking to break the bank...kids have done that. Appreciate any suggestions

Thanks me too...have a red Robin stag, watermelon milli, my old shortcake, and a few others....filled up the 7g too fast..I'll try for a pic later. If not I'll have to start over.. Still wish I could get my ice fire, Mr pacman, and especially the old blue/purple back....I loved those 2 For the log...acro free tank as of 3/22/16......several hard weeks and dips ahead

Banner glass was suprisingly cheap for 3/Glas for my external overflow...I think k it was like 40 total with 8 pieces of glass..

Got a new fts.... Starting to get some algea...probably excess nutrients trapped in the rocks so gonna start addressing that with some gfo and a few more water changes Qt is now up and running with all my leftover sps....so going to start the dip process and in about 8 weeks hope to be aefw free on those corals...would be nice to save a few. Still need to finish up the hood and install the last 2 t5s.....going to paint it this weekend hopefully and then should start cleaning up the wires etc to make things look nice That's about it for now...I may have to start testing parameters besides salinity soon haha

Been doing work as the little ones let me....got my qt set up ready to go....still working on tuning the auto water change So the auto water change will put 1 gal a day outta the main and into the qt which is a 7g cube that then drains to the sewer. (Big thanks to quantum reefs and Vince for the tank ) Lighting will be a spare d120 turned way down and a heater. In plan on covering this tank to keep humidity down....most likely won't leave the skimmer on there but ya never know. So the fish room which is really half a room with the roof angle being kinda funny.....but will house my Rodi and salt water ....eventually make it a mixing station that looks a little nicer And plan on moving electronic thru the wall and into that room. Otherwise ta k is doing suprisingly well.....my sunburst Monti cap that developed a green graft is coloring back up and besides 5he purple tang going after some zoas everyone is fat and happle....blue face as well Oh yeh and I've done 3 15g water changes in the last 4 weeks.....I mean I'm on a roll

Look for a banner glass....very reasonable and good cuts for me

What size is the Dt and sump What size is the room you have for the fish room or are you gonna make it Check out Google sketch and try to come up with some design ideas...helped me alot Ex in my 156 thread here...just for the Google sketch example http://wamas.org/forums/topic/53346-der-abt-156g-build/?fromsearch=1 Will give everyone a better idea of what kinda space we are talking...sump size etc Dave has a very nice room set up as well... Things to think of..... Source water go Rodi Drain etc Humidity. ..suggest a fan/exhaust vs ac Height of everything.....example of setting up a qt in the same room...use water change water from main into qt.... Room to work aND access everything Water bariers for any finished room I'm case of a spill Storage for supplies to keep family happy Fridgd/freezer for fish food and beer...or scotch You can work around the horizontal runs...may be a pain but it can be done The more info in what you have want the more free advice you can get....though paying someone like zygote or another maintenance Co (sorry dont know many and dont mean to obly indorse rob) be a good idea too

First and foremost is ventilation....make sure you can vent the room somehow... Other than. That just need to figure what works best for pumps....flow from the Dt etc....dont want alot of horizontal runs If you can have a room with a floor drain jts an added plus.....I like having a sink near by as well

Ps....does the tank have trim ...aka standard 90g Or is it rimless....if rimless or there is no trim on the bottom then be sure to pit foam down under it

Just get a nice piece of wood from home depot....they have some 1/2 higher quality ply.....cut it for a top and now you have a beer ledge. Just make sure you cut holes for any overflows Had many stands this way

Thanks guys....please meet Eva (ava)....so far she has been great....doesnt let me have much time on the tank at night yet Got all the fish transferred from the 156 and new homes for those I'm not keeping. So far fish list is Blueface angel Purple tang Clowns Cleaner wrasse Royal grama Giant male mandarin 1 Bartlett anthias (others were jumpers) Cs1 barely fit in the stand as I lowered it a little to fit in the space better. Very simple set up so far..... to do list is long though... hood aND ventilation auto water change set up qt for corals Finish up the equipment cave Organize wires Install glass internal overflow CArx once I get back to sps Buy lots of guns to run boys off 3 girls Just need some more time to do projects Right now lighting is 2 d120s...gonna add some t5s. .would love halides but can't justify the heat in this shallow a tank....gonna start with 2 t5s aND possibly go to 4 54w Otherwise just trying to get it set up so there is minimal work for a while Also gave Justin the worlds largest sea hare...crappy pic but he was just huge....would hang out and clean my mp40 wrapping all the way around with out getting sucked in

Threw out some rediculously large colonies full of aefw.....kept a few frags in the water so I can decide if I want to qt them and attempt to save them....most likely won't Have a colony of red Robin stag thay looks un affected I am having trouble tossing but tomorrow is the deadline..... I couldn't stop the spikes till I put something in with bacteria...I made a mini biopellet reactor out of a 20 Oz soda bottle and took some pellets out of the main tanks reactor..next thing I knew the qt was running great with a bunch of fish Tried a sponge first....didn't help enough....

Check for stray voltage.....electric slide?

My disaster....got fish iny new tank and my aciii stopped working....luckily with the return and other pumps on the heat is staying consistent to not need the controller....few degrees cold but in 5he acceptable range....the other heater i had as backup will not self regulate the temp....gonna be a few days to get a replacement I got my excursion Out and down the big hill to the 1 plowed road...luckily it has some ground clearance..got it back up in a few tries but luckily no shoveling required.....we are on baby watch since she is due in 3 weeks Soni wanted the ability to get to the hospital...and I love driving in snow About 6 a backhoe came down the street....first time I've seen that. Made a pseudo path but forgot one side of the hill

Basically for flow from sump to main tank can be slower....this will give the skimmer more time to clean the water. On my 156 I had a mag 9 (13 yr old one) and it was more than enough flow) Inside the tank you put powerheads(koralias, vortechs, gyre, whatever you choose) to move the water around aND stir up detritus(junk) so it can be drained down in the sump. Dependin on the coral and fish you will adjust how many or how strong the powerheads are.......for sps higher flow....LPS lower flow. Post up you plans and there is alot of knowledge that will give you great ideas or reaffirm your thoughts

Just wanted to give a big thanks to air water and ice Needed a booster pump at the new tank location..had a few questions and got answers same day that made sense and even suggested a few alternatives to suit my needs ...not pushing a single most expensive product like some places do...ended up getting a auto shut off valve too. Got exactly what I needed shipped quickly with all items packed very carefully......not to mention the price was better than just about anywhere else......
