  1. I am selling a beautiful 180 gal Oceanic tank with custom, solid wood stand for $999. This tank was set up by professionals and includes everything you need except water and fish! Includes 100 pounds of live rock. Also includes top with new lights. Also heater, pumps, protein skimmer, bucket of salt, etc. there is a wet/dry filter system housed within the stand. The pictures show the top, lights, and filter system. I took the pictures while cleaning/replacing the water, but the tank is usually filled. The tank is 24"D x 29.25"H x 60"W. The stand is approximately four feet tall and otherwise mostly matches the tank's dimensions. Of course the components and accessories are worth much more than I am asking, but I am a slightly motivated seller. I am including a link to the Craigslist post. Hopefully it conveys - https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/for/6221059046.html If interested, please email me at no7325@gmail.com Thanks!
  2. I had to build a new stand for a tank I bought because the stand itself seemed a bit dangerous (it seemed to have stress cracks in the back). I built the tank following this blueprint from http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1169964 I am not sure how it happened but I ended up have the tank 4.5 inches too wide. So 3 of the sides of the tank are directly supported by 2x4 and the front is not. Tank Stand http://i.imgur.com/wzqWPRI.jpg Under Tank Stand http://i.imgur.com/KbraNnJ.jpg I am trying to think of options of how to fix the situation. I was considering just adding 2 more support beams below to support the front side that doesn't directly have a 2x4. I was also thinking adding a 2x4 so its perpendicular to the middle support beam but fully supports the length of the unsupported front. However, both of these would be just supported by kreg screw joints (pocket holes) and not directly transferred to a vertical 2x4. I am not sure if that would be a problem given its only the front and all other sides and corners are supported. I have seen commercial stands with little to no front support but the top is 1 1/8" thick to my 1/2" plywood top (but mine does support the plywood with one, up to three 2x4 supports.) Thoughts?
  3. Hi All... So, I finally have most of the components for my 90 Gal bow... (up grading from a 36 Gal Bow) Got my sump, MP-40, skimmer, DC12,000 pump, apex lite, (still need lights) and other such items.... Now, I need help building a stand. I am looking at something rather simple 5' long by 2' wide... although I am looking to do something with more "finesse" in regards to piping and electrical wiring. Additionally, I would like to have enough room under the stand for a 10gal quarantine tank, and possibly an ATO tank (although I might build a separate stand for the ATO in the form of a RODI storage tank as well as a holding tank for NaCl Water on the same stand) *4 tanks... 2 stands* In regard to finesse, I mean organized and neat... I don't want a birds nest of wiring or a plumber's nightmare.... So.. if you are full of ideas, and well organized, I could use your help. Saturday... Please PM me with questions, etc... Or post them here... that is fine too I guess... Also, I live in South Arlington near Pentagon City.. -B
