  2. It will snap back, They can stretch a mile, before they tear an inch!
  3. It worked!! Put him in a different spot in the tank and the clownish actually seem to be taking notice for once. And my hand now has the oh so familiar smell of sea anemone that won't go away no matter what *aaahhh*
  4. Space is def too small for a power head so I'll try a cc and see if I can get him loose. He's been in the same spot for weeks, not sure why he'd move all of the sudden but I'll try to get him to stick somewhere else in the tank once I get him loose.
  5. My RBTA managed to somehow make its way into the overflow and is now stuck on one of the walls in my sump. I don't want to hurt it but I need to get it back into my DT. Any suggestions on how to get it off the wall?
  6. I'm wondering what LFS sells the Salifert nitrate test. I've checked out a couple and they seem to have everything but...
  7. Also, if the tank is young and you are not removing fish waste(ammonia) and left over food also ammonia.. Does it not convert to nitrites, then nitrates?
  8. This skimmer is doing nothing... ( not even an oz day) The tank is not very old, hence the need for the skimmer. I have not had this issue until this machine ( not a skimmer yet) was placed into the system.
  9. Okay so it does not skim as much as I believe it should.. Anyone have one of these skimmers? Please help!! My Nitrates are rising and I know this is the reason
  10. Anthias really do require that much feeding?
  11. 10-4 Working very well right now
  12. Yea it was broke in when I got it... Upon further reasearch I found my model 2+ years old doesn't come with the air intake control. Hence , it pulls to much air. So I installed a air restriction device I also noticed that mine doesn't have the min max water level either. But, by cutting off air flow it raised the water level to where it should be as stated on the new models..
  13. I have a super reef octopus 1000 and a can't seem to get it right.. It is in about 5.5" water and I have the internal water level to specs.. the skim is always too wet or nothing at all.. It's flooded twice?? Somebody help me!! I know this is a good skimmer, Just can't get it right!!!!!
  14. I have a pair of clowns, a couple of anthias, kole tang, neon dotty, coral beauty, midas and bicolor , diamond goby and a yellow coris..
  15. I feed Once a day, too much? just want to get an Idea of what everyone else does?
  16. Could it be that I never got the light? It was over a month ago.
  17. So, I got some cheato some time back with the intention of buying a light to care for it, long story short.. It died and completely dissolved into the sysem, I found my nitrates over 80ppm!! preformed 2 water changes and still no effect? Upon further digging, I realized that the pump for my carbon reactor was in the the return chamber Downstream of the Now dissolved cheato, and had sucked it up and stored it in the reactor chamber.. So everytime I did a water change it was dosing the tank with Nitrates!! I removed it cleaned it up and put in new carbon. We are now down to 40ppm overnight, I will do another water change today.. Good news!! Death toll so far = 0.. Anyone ever heard of cheato doing this? I know that it is a living microalgae and anything that dies can produce nitrates right?
  18. Wow, Didn't realize they were so close to home... That's crazy!! I'm gonna have to watch my "step" in the outer banks from now on.
  19. So I've heard.. Pretty cool to look at in someone else's tank!!
  20. That's One of the coolest things I've ever seen in this hobby
