So, due to neglect and a very busy schedule, Our tank has developed the biggest (greenish/dark brownish?) algae outbreak I have ever seen!! We are trying to figure out whether to start trimming and do water changes? Tried the light cycling.. No go. Or, if we should just sell the livestock pull the rock Clean it and Dry it out so we can start over..? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

We'll, I took my wife an d kids to a LFS that I have gone to before (I will not post the name) and I have had amazing service there before. When we arrived there was someone helping a patron and another person topping off tanks. There was no greeting as came through the door, which is ok they were busy I guess. Then the next 20 mins went by without a word. No " hey there as soon as I'm done with this gentlemen I will help you out". No " let me know if you have any questions". Again, still not enough to upset me. It did seem a little strange though, as I have had nothing but great service there. The one thing I did notice was, I had never seen either one of these individuals in the store before. Moving on, after this person was done helping the customer they were with, they proceed to ignore my wife who was standing right in front of them, so they could finish the texting session they were having at the time. Which was apparently important enough to ignore us and walk into the back room. That was the last straw, we walked out and took our business somewhere it will be appreciated. This does not make me very happy, as I like this store and I believe the owner is the person we have always dealt with before. I wonder how he would feel to know that, $59 for the yellow tang, $80 for the Mis bars, and $99 fore the rose bubble tip, walked out the door. And this all because, a couple of individuals couldn't take time from texting and topping off tanks to aknowledge that customers were in the store. Worst wasted 25 mins in a long time. I will have a hard time returning to this store again.. I will get off my soap box now.

I had considered a small tang, as a temp fix. And then donate or trade him in as my display is only 92 gal. However, sounds like the pick and pull method is the way.. And a couple of turbos (Good thing my corals are glued down)

Well some of this crap found its way into the display, I picked most of it but I know it's only a matter of time before it returns.. Any thoughts? Temporary yellow tang, copper band, snail? Thanks in advance

Ok so I can't catch this guy. He's really lethargic and looks much worse today, but still quick enough to avoid me. I assume I can't put this stuff in the reef tank?

I did not see the wrasse yesterday or the day before, he's usually right out in the open. Today he is out but I noticed he was hiding behind a rock which is so not like him. After a closer look I see that his mouth is stuck open, like he has lock jaw, and he has a few "puffy" white spots on his body and his fins. Does anyone know what this might be and if it's treatable? Any help will be appreciated, I definitely want to get him out of there and medicated ASAP if there's something out there that can help him. Thanks!

Dottybacks (my neon specific), are the terror of the saltwater world!! he attacks everything. Has made my goby jump twice! once into the overflow and then out of the hospital tank (rip) do not get any type of dottyback. I will be selling mine just as soon as he's done on the QT tank. We had a single 150W MH and the new light is a It2080

It's crazy that the lights have been out for a matter of a few hours and it already look s better. We did replace our lighting recently so I think that has a lot to do with it. Right now we don't have any fish in the tank so not feeding much at all, we were only gone for 4 days so didn't have the tank fed at all so idk where this stuff came from. Crazy!
