  1. what do you use as far as a siphon? Just a power head and some tubing??
  2. will the lack of light have any ill effects on my anemone, other than making it sad for a few days? lol
  3. Ok will do all that. Lights are off already (I think that's what started this whole thing honestly). I got as much off the sand as I could 2 days ago, figuring that might help but it seems to have just spread and 2x worse overnight :? What would you recommend a far a siphoning it off the sand? It's all over the darn rocks too now :( I will try blowing it off, do you think that will spread it even more? Also haven't been feeding much because there are no fish, so that won't be a problem!!
  4. LOL TY! Sorry for the double post! 2 minds, 1 acct!!
  5. I know, i just wanna get back to reefin' , ya know?
  6. LOL!! my wife posted before me. Too funny
  7. Well, after the Ich outbreak, and the catch the fish / Qt mishap.. I now have a huge Cyanio algae infestation.. Can't put anything live in the tank to stop it, As the tank may still have ich in it.. I am about an ass hair away from getting rid of the whole set-up. Just sayin'.
  8. So all of the sudden, we come back from vacation on Sunday and have a small amount of "red algae" on the sand, etc. Today it is every where!! I have a hard time believing it has anything to do with nitrates or phosphates since we haven't had any fish in the tank for 3 weeks!! Does anyone have any suggestions On how to get rid of this stuff??
  9. Okay, so we finally caught the Coris Wrasse. All fish have been in the hospital for treatment about a week now. The male Oci clown was the worst and he already looks 10x better. We will be QT-ing them for at least a month, at which point only a portion will be going back in.. I can tell for sure that the Neon Dottyback will not and possibly the clowns (Oci's and they already do the dance!) the yellow Coris and maybe the coral beauty... ( CB may have lateral line disease) I will post them in the proper forum when we make our decision..
  10. Mmmm... Old bay, litlte butter, apple cider vinegar.. Good eatin' for sure!
  11. Nope Haven't seen him yet. I'll get him tho!!!
  12. i know it's kinda late to ask but.... Is that pressure treated wood?
  13. Stand is on it's way. This is my first time every building something, so it was daunting, but i think so far so good. I went with the design you left me on my other thread from Rocket on RC. It feels solid, and there are just a few steps I need to take in order to make sure it's done. I made it 22" Deep in order to fit my 16" deep sump. I actually accommodated to have 17" deep, but wanted room for play. I went with 40" high, with the 2 x 6 it ends up being 42" high total. I'll have no problems getting in there any playing around below, so that's really exciting for me. Might need an extra tall step stool for working in the back of the tank though! My only concern with the 22" depth, is my tank is 18", which means it will just barely rest on the outer beams. Do you think I should put some support beams down the middle, and along the top? Good decision to go with new stand!!!!
  14. Had one in my tank when i worked in Salt lake city, Did the same thing!
  15. Haven't seen him again yet, But we are reaking havoc on the tank right now (catching fish for the qt)..
  16. I will, I wanted one anyway.. Just not like this. wait... Free is good??
  17. Okay, if the sudden infestation of ich wasn't enough.. I noticed a small creature peeking out behind the rocks at me.. when i got closer for a better view, it moved like lightning behind the rock. I believe it's a Mantis!! Stay tuned......
  18. I think you would be happier with a taller stand, I have one regret with my 90 corner and it's that you have to bend down to see everything.. I would love to have made my own stand, at/near eye level (Not literally) maybe 46-48" .. I have seen several this way and wish mine was too.. Oh yea, there is the added space thing too. I think with a tank that large, it will command attention at that height ( not that it wouldn't already) but it would define the space. As the Food Lion would say: "That's just my 2 cents"
  19. Very tough coral to keep, I have never had much luck .. Unfortunate too ,since it's such a cool coral
