Just what i wanted to know, thanks.

I cranked it to 82 F to try to get the temp to come up... I just don't wanna get everything up and running, and this thing turn into a lightning bolt, and fry my tank.. Is 150 good enough for a 92? Is hydor a good manufacturer of heaters? I know they make pretty good powerheads but i'm not familiar with they're heaters..

Hello all, Added my salt and heater yesterday afternoon around 6:00pm temp was 73.5 F and now it is 75.9 F Is this a normal rise? also noticed that the heater shuts off quite a bit also... I thought i understood thermostatic devices.. And that so long as the water that is coming into my return is below the set point it should continue to heat.. is that right? It is a hydor 150 and the tank is a 92 corner... Any knowledge of these heaters, proper sizing, placement etc.. would be great

Now that's a thought..

The only prob. w/running two lines is, there's only one avail. space in the panel.. I'm also gonna get the brother-in-law to help me(he just doesn't know it yet). I'm an HVAC installer so, I have changed out breakers before. But, he's the "Sparkie" That normally gives me info. Now if I ask him , He'll know sumthin's up... But, if I just get the supplies he'll never see it coming...hehe

I was thinking that was a option. I'll just have to change te location of the tank. What do you think will a 30 amp ,and 12-2 wire do or is 12-2 to small?

I'm prob. gonna have issues w/breakers once I set up my system. It seems fairly easy to trip the breakers in the basement, where I'm going to be it setting up. Now I know I could go with a a bigger breaker but, how big can I go w/out burning wires? Seem like the biggest breaker in the panel for downstairs is 15 amps... The prob. IMPO Is That they "daisy chsined" way to many things together on one breaker... The reason I think so is: When you trip the breaker, almost every plug in the basement(except one) goes out.. Any "sparkie's" out there? Let's hear some thought's, suggestions ,answers,whatever you got. Thanks, Will.

Hello all, I just moved back to VA from UT and I've been in the"hobby" for about 2 years now. I was a member of the Marine society out there (WMAS) ,and I'm Glad to have found one here as well. I will be slowly getting back into the hobby ,and Learning more about this site. I had to get rid of my 90 when I moved. So, in a week or so The first thing I'll be looking for is a smaller tank. I know, I should probably get a big one since I'm just gonna do that anyway. But I'm gonna eventually have to move again ,and I don't wanna have to move a monster tank. Well, I just wanted to say hello ,and I look forward to a member. William.
