  1. I spoke with the people at IM yesterday, and confirmed that the new version of these are just fine. They pulled the old ones and went with a new design, using thicker glass and some other change. They also said there is no issue with using an MP10 with them. However, I wish they would make other improvements as well. My return pump cracked in several spots when I went to pull it apart and clean it. But its under warranty and they are happily going to replace it. So far so good with customer service.
  2. Sorry to here this Steve, sometimes I think if you didnt have bad luck you might not have luck at all... Hang in there.. Hopefully you told the member who these came from so they dont continue plagueing other peoples tanks. Things like this make those good deals, not so good. Better to stick with a quality source for corals, even if you have to pay more.
  3. +1.. Especially in a smaller tank like they are in. Ive had the same happen in a larger tank as well. Bought 9, after 3 weeks I had 5, however those 5 were fine after that.
  4. I've heard when you get the yellow that wild caught are much more brighter than the ora yellows. That's also why the ora is usually cheaper than wild caught.
  5. But somehow its ok for you to speak poorly of a group of people you don't know. That makes you no better, and a coward. Crawl back under your rock and go away.
  6. I personally just received an order from LA this morning and it was perfect. I think you will have a hard time finding a place better than LA/DD.. And yes LFS charge more bc theyre taking all the risk and headache. If you order it for 225 and it dies, and they wont take care of you, then what.? At least with LA/DD you can have piece of mind they guarantee there products., Price is often a direct reflection of quality.
  7. Fwiw foxfaces will eat coral especially zoanthids if not fed properly. You need to give them algae sheets if you don't have an abundance growing in the tank. I agree with rob that a flame hawk would be a great choice, i also think a cool blenny would be good choice. Also i wouldn't add a fish every week or two, maybe every month or so.
  8. This would royally %$#* me off too.... Cant say I blame you there..
  9. He still got refunded, so it wasnt a total loss.. Im sure he isnt satisfied, but it couldve been worse. Again, if you want a $200 fish, ask your LFS to order it if you feel more comfortable.
  10. FWIW some of our local vendors can get you special order fish, just reach out. Were lucky to have as many quality local fish stores as we do.. Take advantage of there great service..
  11. exactly why USPS is eventually going to go out of business and not be missed at all.. I hate them, they are horrible. They cant get envelopes right, why do we expect them to accomplish anything else. Very sorry for your loss, unfortunately not the first one of these Ive seen about USPS.. Can we see what you were supposed to get.?
  12. Nothing against the OP, and I feel for him, but dont be discouraged. Ive ordered from and been a part of many LA group buys and NEVER had an issue. Ive had fish arrive that looked better in the bag then they do in a lot of LFS in the tank. Again, I am very sorry for the OP's experieince, its unfortunate and hopefully it can get resolved properly..
  13. Good to know.. How do you like it and how does it perform.? Also is it quiet.?
  14. Or sell EVERYTHING and go for the 300DD..... Just saying... Btw, did you have to Mod the tunze 9002 to fit.? I have the Nuvo 24 and have thought about that skimmer.. Im currently skimmerless, didnt like the IM, and I bought the CADlights, but it didnt fit.
  15. Someone totally forgot about the tank..... I just stubled upon a great thread...
  16. Probably is the foxface, if they arent fed enough the will most certainly eat zoas.. I would add algae sheets frequently and he should stop eating them.. Could also be asterina starfish, as they are known to eat zoas as well.. Also you have a sailfin tang, not salefin.
  17. " I struggled for awhile trying to figure out what I was going to do during the cycling process because I was planning to reuse everything from the old tank to the new." Here it says you planned to reuse everything from old tank to the new, so if you transferred everything over, you didn't really start from new, therefore not really proving the product instantly cycled a "new" tank. Pretty sure that's what the conversation is attempting to be..
  18. Looking good Mike... Do you still have the cheato in the DT.? If so hows it doing in there.? I wouldn't think its to invasive.
  19. Another reason you're a good vendor.!!!! Good for you.!
  20. Yeah I have mine in the corner away from the light, doing just fine, actually noticed a baby one growing..
  21. IC-Gel .. you can get it on ebay for about $7 per tube, great stuff...
  22. No... But certain corals dont do nearly as well in the ideal SPS system. SPS prefer to have a ULNS and high flow, LPS /Softies dont like the flow and like it a little bit dirtier. Many people keep fully mixed reefs with great success.. Personally the issue seems to be the rics themselves... When several people who all got them at the same time from the same place would lead me to believe thats the origin of your problems. Who knows what there transport was like, how long they sat in a bag/box etc... I just find it strange that with all those similar factors its anything other than that batch of rics.
  23. Sounds like there is a common trend here.... How long did ERC have them before you all got them.? I would be talking to them, as more than one person is having an issue. Also, I thought the GB was for Florida Rics, not yumas.? Things to consider, rics dont like super bright light, they dont like lots of flow and they do like dirtier water...
