  1. hahahaha good one forrest!
  2. I don't have a sump or overflow:) On the postive I found one of my shrimp today and I've seen 2 in the last couple of days so I think they are just hidden. Still no sign of the fish.
  3. Don't give anyone on craiglist a downpayment.
  4. I like when you add cut mushrooms and they float around and find newhomes:)
  5. SO I finally broke down and tried to order some new fish/inverts. As far I know I don't have any overally agressive fish the sixline wrasse is a little agressive, but not overly so. The rest of my fish don't give about other fish. I ordered a jawfish and a algee blenny both swam out of the bag and a looked ook....went to my girl friends house for 2 days came back and I havn't seen the fish since. Also all of my other fish are great! Also I had some blue legged coral banded shrimp go missing as well. I saw them on monday and now I can't find them. So thats 4 fish/inverts in a week. Another interesting find. I have a box in my tank to keep the pump(protienskimmer) out of the sand well I was moving corals around and saw one of the shrimp He was in the box I thought well maybe hes trapped. Well I removed some corals. When I saw a cerith snail graveyard like 40+ dead snails on the bottem. I freaked out put on a glove and started picking them out when I saw a long worm go into a piece of live rock of course I removed the worm and piece of live rock. It was fast with out bristels and I didn't see its head.... It was late and I didn't want to try and photograph it and it was in a rock. I'm defenlty wondering if theres another one. My live rock is all epoxied into place. So advice needed??? Do I try and dismantle my tank/clean it looking for any parisites. Leave it alone and hope that the missing fish turn up. I'm just wondering why it would pick on snails The rock and the worm were in a box and I didn't see a single fish bone or anything. What if I put a silver side in a trap and lower it in the tank and wait? I'm currenlty battling bryopis/some cyno/and grape culerpa:) I have some really wimpy fish including a mardin so I would think he would be the first to go if this worm was a parisite. Tank is 1 Plus year old and growing also have an anomee could be the cause of the missing fish. Those are the problems on the plus side my fish that were older are getting huge and my corals are doing good.
  6. I like queen fighting conch for cyno, but they won't get it off the rocks.
  7. I have a problem saying the second one on the list. Majanoes as well... I just go the evil little anomeees. Least I can say joes juice!
  8. Yes I'm at work which I think is blocking the posting site! I love your tank Forrest and Envy you my tank is all grape culerpad again:) I'm waging war at this very minute. Anyway I need to do a water change and a few lawn mowings!
  9. I can't see the pictures if this is your tank its one of the nicest I've seen in the size catagory!
  10. I go there alot too bad my tank is in springfield. Their staff also has experience with corals which is more then most pet stores give you.
  11. I don't think its quite 7 out of 2 losses.... He wouldn't be in business. I did have losses, but hes charging 10$ for 50$ frags what did you expect. As for the cutting and reselling quickly I've been to people tanks had a fresh coral cut glued right in front of me and they normally survied. I don't buy any sps so I wouldn't know whats what with that I only buy lps I've losted probably 25-40 percent out of 20+ corals I've lost probably 5 or 6 and of those I probably had some overcrowding becuase of the cheaper prices? I hate when people say their water is "ok" or all "parameters are good" without hard numbers. I'd be curious if we could buy some as a club and see how well they survive in a tank. Without you knowing mr coral:) If he waits 10days and 10days is his policy then you know that I think 10days is enough time to heal. I figure that 10 corals come out of a colony if 3 surive in someones tanks thats better then someone buying a huge colony and killing it! I love the new frag circles by the way mr coral:) The spiral kind seem to rotate better as the narius snails and creatures on my rock. Oh one more thought I get a lot higher survival rates if I uae expoxy and have a general idea of where stuff goes...
  12. You really need to get your levels checked gsp is one of the easist corals to grow, but no worries your friends at wamas are here to help....it could be flow or high chemical implance.
  13. I would also look into getting a refuguim nothing brings down amonia and phosphates like live cheato:) and the pods are great for feeding your fish....
  14. Awesomeness:) what are you going to do let the tank eat them or try and raise them?
  15. I put a yellow tang in a 24 cube and it didn't live long also watch the emerald crab they can get agressive:) warmest wishes Troy
  16. I had a very bad experience with fish store water. Not going to mention which store, but they had a filter problem and didn't know almost wiped out my tank and since many of us don't carry a tds meter its impossible to check water quality.... Also they are so easy to install and operate. As for the ro/di if you wait until someones getting out you can get them used and replace all the filters.... The down side is I've flooded my basement several times:)
  17. I hand scooped a clownfish out of my nano cube refugium.
  18. It was very nasty on the eastern shore! BUT I went fishing anyway every time it would rain and the wind would blow us down we ran back to the car... we got in a solid 2 hours! Then we drove home and attemptedto fish the wesetern shore... way too cold... anyway I'm hopefully going this weekend
  19. Yes I was reading about diffrnet ways/ types and I got intregued and was wondering how hard it is to breed them? There was a guy in fairfax that bred rotifers and I think artimia? He showed me his setup it was awesome, but that was a while ago, maybe new technology has made it easier?

  21. Any thoughts I'm going to try and breed them in a sepreate tank and then send them to the refugium? I see that a company has 8 diffrent species to choose from? I'm a little leary about buying a bag full of pods I heard if you don't condition them just right they don't make it? Anyway if someone is doing this in the club it would be awesome to get some advice?
  22. Yep mine too springfield:)
  23. I love meeting new people heres an invitation to come see my fish tank:) I don't have the cleanest, nicest, or even most expensive, but love to have people over. If you want to learn or even just want to shoot the breeze. Thats totally cool. A little about the tank 46g led (NO sump) Protien skimmer, refugium soon to have a new media reactor. Lps zoos and mushrooms as well as some softies an anomee a clam and fish! 6 fish to be exact! My fish tank is in my room in my parents home so weight was an issue. I choose along time ago not to grow sps for personal reasons. Don't be shy just send me a pm. or email. Thank Troy
