  2. Hi:) saw you joined yesterday everyone that I've ever talked to started with a nano the key is to not overstock it also having a clear idea of what your going to grow is helpful. If I had to do it again I'd have gone on a few tank tours before ordering if your ever in springfeild I'll give you a tank tour:) I run a simple tank scheme and by avoiding sps my tank looks great Some like an sps dominate reef, but cant grow xenia:) Anyway Look at pictures and try and figure out the look you want:) SPS-small stony polyp LPS- Large stony polyp Softies-soft corals
  3. Sad face:) Maybe hes hiding... or maybe you got two females... do you have an anomonee maybe it got eaten?
  4. OH and some of us aren't coral nerds:) Lance my old friend on her was a personal fitness trainer:) And for the record boxers for the win jk jk
  5. I wrote an essay and then they told me to answer the questions Anyway I think its a good idea its a club too....
  6. Awsome wish we had some of these at work:)
  7. I lost one of my par38 from nano tuners by evil I conntact nano tuners and they sent me a replacement driver very happy:)
  8. Sps are very hard to grow in a smaller tank. How is your calcium? with a clam and all those hard corals those were my thoughts anyway? I think its a very pretty tank I hope stuff recovers!
  9. Kirk is awesome I've been over to help him once brought him some cheato for his tank....I wish I had better hours as I'm available strange ones. Thanks for inspiring me!
  10. Given my tank was alot smaller, but I had it take over my nano in short order:)
  11. Yes but I was in a hurry its worse then a bee sting!
  12. My cleaners killed my peppermints systematically.... So if you have cleaners this may not be an option
  13. They will do that I had a anomee kill 6 colonies go under a rock, and die from lack of light:) After he died I lost another 3 colonies to the poison.... If your going anomee I'd give it a wide berth of coral free area... this will also allow it to split and give you more fun in your tank:)
  14. I got her beat:) I super glued them into my skin I was glueing a frag and picked up the rock and a little glue ran down on the worm and on my finger I had to naw the glue off....
  15. I'm not the grammar police, but I don't understand post A and I don't see a follow up post and to post in big bold letter that I got ripped off and a company name is well cause for alarm. Its almost like flaming on a board, I would like to hear what both sides have to say again and calmer with less anger. It doesn't help anyone to get upset. Thanks Troy
  16. I hope he eats I had a yellow tang that never ate and it got eaten by an anomee my clownfish were so mad!
  17. Ok thank for the info I've been reading 0 tds two days ago thanks.... as for the clarimines I'm going to get clarimine filters!
  18. My guess is you need the mouth? I don't know how you would do it though maybe a pair of coral sheers maybe not .... maybe you can put a smaller rock near by and see if you can get it to creep.
  19. Its time for new filters last year I ordered filters and I'm not sure if I ordered chloromine filters or not. I just read that fairfax county and most of northern va has seasonal chloromines in the drinking water and elemental chlorine the rest of the time. Will a chlormine desigend filter work for both the elemental free chlorine and the chloromines. I have a 6 stage ro/di machine Also its been 3-5 years since I had a new membrane how often do you change them?
  20. Yea mine do it all the time they turn wiggle and chase! If you introduce a new clownfish the patern starts all over again (do not do this) anyway glad to see its coming along.
  21. Cool:) Corals never stop amazing me when my mushroom engulfs a particle of food thats a good day!
  22. Its a good read, the resources are a little dated, but I'm not sure when the paper was written.
  23. Wow thats really sad? Are we sure this wasn't caused by global warming.. or a coral illness I've been told that the United States is trying to fight a coral illness similar to rapid tissue loss. I've never dived for real so I wouldn't know how to tell one problem from another just what I took in oceanagraphy class.... I've also been told that some urchins eat corals. Anyway need more research thats a real bummer!
  24. wow is it a filter feeder or does it require very low lights? I think its pretty.
