Can I put stainless steal hose clamps directly into the tank or is it going to kill stuff? I've seen plastic ones, but I just broke my only one. Anyway I can get a readily supply of stainless steal ones will they hurt my reef.

I had my dad sift the sand and he smells awful.... its a mix of cat %$#* and fish... anyway we are soaking it in a bucket with holes until it smells better....next we will mix it with ro/di water!

I got mine to eat pellets for what its worth!

Mine used to eat mirco pellets and brine and black worms I used to feed it twice a week all of the above in my nano he lived until my ex stuck a scooter blenny in the tank and it crashed the pods.... I think they will always need pods to survive but I did get it to take the mirco pellets and I'm assuming it ate the brine shrimp and black worms.. I would wait until I saw him and dump the pellets right on his head.. and he would suck them up!

Left it out in the snow I'm seeing if its fixable now.... all of the plastic cylanders are busted off and I'm unsure about the membrne... but since I sold it and he gave it back to me for free I didn't loose anything and as a bonus I got a tds meter out of it...

well it smells very fishy! I think I will try the tap water approach and wait until I get my rodi machine back up and running ... I sold it to a guy and then he left it out on the snow... and it exploded and now I have to try and put it back together as he gave it back to me for free... anyway hopefully I'll be up and running soon!

Alright I can do that no bleach needed and the fishy smell is like the beach... anyway the sand is a good size... I will wash it with tap until its clear and flush with ro/di water and then seed.... now that I have a plan I can finally start to see my tank dreams come to life...

resin just nutrilises stuff... I think the filters pull out the tds not complelty sure though! ps I've never seen my filters look anything like that before!

I got a 50 pound bucket of formally alive reef sand I'm going to sepreate it out and then add either bleach or something else to clean it any suggests on what that chemical should be... it smells like fish! Anyway please help!

I used to take the rocks out and chip it off with a knife ... if you pop the bubbles it will spread... how big is your tank... I had an issue with cullerpa a while ago and I coudln't find anything that would eat it and fit in a 24.... best of luck keep us posted!

Makes you think twice about eating a salmon burger... I'm not sure how much pain fish feel... I fish and I'm sure they don't feel as much pain as we do... anyway hope you guys have fun petting your fish!

Its like everything else fisheries equal survival pressure just like blue crabs in our area...the question is how to moniter the stuff going out we can all do our part by keeping stuff alive in our tanks and by captive breeding/fragging

Yes I no longer keep hermits in my tanks for that reason..if I do put in hermits I put in hawian lefthanded zebra hermits they are the smallest.

Hermits will kill other hermits and snails to steal thier shells... while you can't avoid it compleltly you can give them extra shells that they can use...
