Good luck, I've never done it either and would be curious to hear how it goes and if the renewed product is as effective as the 1st time. We use GFO in bulk but we mix it with activated carbon. Unless someone knows a trick, it is too much work to separate them from each other. We also use (and sell) a GFO substitute that pound for pound can remove more Po4. It is a little more expensive than GFO but it can be regenerated several times using hyper salinity saltwater (synthetic salt mix and RO/DI.)

All 3 lights are now on hold for a WAMASer who called in with a credit card and is planning to come tomorrow to pick them up. Thanks for looking! Phil

Yes there are 3, but you do not need to buy all of them.

Disclaimer: On a few of Gen1 units we have installed for our service customers, the fan failed. This is part of the reason for the new HD fan that they started using. In every case in the past (I don't know what they will do in the future) EcoTech has replaced these units with refurbished Gen 1s with the new HD fan. Usually when they failed, they failed in the 1st 3-6 months of use. These units are about 15 months old. There are also options where they send upgrade parts to you, or you send the unit to them for an upgrade. We actually had 5 of them, but my brother snagged the frist 2.

Stay tuned, we may do this again Friday or Saturday.... visit our facebook page to vote on which day it is and LIKE us to get future updates.

We upgraded our coral system to the Gen 2s and have PROs running on one of the display tanks. I have 3 USED Radion Gen 1s available for $325 + tax each, that is over $200 off the price of a new Gen 2. For those wondering about breaking any MAP rules, I spoke with my Rep at Ecotech and because they are used I have his blessing to sell these below Minimum Advertised Price, you will get a written (paid) invoice if you need proof of purchase. They are fully funtional with Ecosmart live and the soon to be released Reef Link. Ecotech has a program that will allow you to upgrade these lights either to the full Gen 2 version, or to swap out the fan to the new version that is used in the Gen 2s and Pros. Pickup at: Reef eScape 11141 Lee Highway Fairfax VA 22030 Friday 2:00-6:00 Saturday 10:00-4:00 1st come 1st served. Will take credit card payment in full to hold. I run 2 Pros on my tank at home, and we have 2 on the 150 SPS display at our shop. There are 5 Gen1s on our 400gallon coral tank. We have Gen1, Gen2 and Pros on several customer tanks. Great lights. I think we top them out at 80% of 18k. it is a 30 inch deep tank. Results may vary ;o) Tell us about your application. Do you already have the lights installed? Is something happening you are not happy with? How can we help?

We did donate#1, #2, and #4, and some Hollywood stunner... but that isn't the stunner. It is a chalice, but it not one that has a "Limited edition" name. It came in from a supplier just a day before the event, it could color up and look like something that has a name, but as far as we know, it is just some random chalice. Let it grow out. Give it clean water, good light and have another look at it in 6 months.

All, Sam will be out of town with very limited access to the email/forums for the next month. Be sure to contact me (email Phil@reefescape.net is for fastest response) if you need anything or have questions. Phil

We have them on several tanks. We put 4 on a 4ft 150g (48x24x29) display tank in the showroom... then added the TIR lenses: Absolute overkill. Put them over about 35% and corals start to react negativly. When the Pro model is available we will just use 2 of those and put the Gen 1s on another tank. I have 2 on my 150 at home also with TIRs... turned them down to 60% to aclimate from the light increase over the old 250 MHs and LED tubes for a month then up to 80%. We put 8 on a customer's 750 gallon 8ft x42" x 44" deep tank and that is PLEANTY. We are planning a 300dd for a new customer and will put 6 Gen2 lights on it. The only other thing I can think to suggest is to go with 4 with 2 in the center and one on each side shifted a bit closer to the center. You don't need to light the overflow and side glass. Put the light demanding stuff in the middle. You can spend that $ someplace else now, and add more lights later if you decide it isn't enough. Good luck with it.
