I am running 2 mars aqua LED's currently and I am not thrilled with the output.  Getting coral growth, but color is lacking.  What is everyone else using?

on a 72 display 4 ecotech 2s SPS good growth and color

on a 96 frag 4 T247s SPS  excellent  growth and color   (Favorite lights will eventually change all lights to these)

on a 96 frag 4 black boxes SPS and LPS good growth and color

on a 96 frag 4 black boxes  Leathers and Zoas and Zenia  good growth and color

on a 36 frag 1 Razor Shroom tank  good color

3x Ecotech Radion XR30W replacing older DIY 3x 288W LED's. Spectrum reprogrammability of the newer lights helps me to adjust for aestethics is nice compared with the old lights.

I'm currently just running a 48" T5 on mine.  It will keep me from putting corals too close to the ends of the tank which would inevitably grow on to the glass and prevent me from scraping. 8)

How high are the lights from the water? Thanks

I'm not there to look right now, but probably about 15 inches or so.

I have the center brace and no canopy so I would have to hang the lights to go with 3.  Wanted to use their mounting brackets if possible.  Hanging lights is not my forte

Yeah. My tank has two braces that divide it into 2-foot sections. Plus, it's an in-wall installation (with an unfinished ceiling in back) so hanging it from the ceiling is pretty straightforward.

Thanks.................I have about 11"-12" to work with.

My estimate was faulty. The front edge of my lights are 9-1/2" off the water. The back side of the light is 11 inches up.

How's the color and growth..............SPS wise?

Good. Color improvement (for me) goes more to the water being clean and parameters being stable. Flow and light have never really been a problem in my tank.  I'll admit that, during the couple of years leading up to MACNA, I didn't pay as much attention to the tank as it needed. This led to a serious re-boot of the system about 3 months ago where I busted a lot of corals up, acid washed most of the rocks and vacuumed the sand. Since then, the SPS colors have been improving and the corals look a lot happier. I'm still re-populating the tank.
