rockstarta78 October 22, 2016 Share October 22, 2016 For the life of me I can't figure out what this is growing on my sand bed. If any one had any idea please let me know. I hope this is not Aptesia. It looks like it has tentacles. It's root is buried under the sand. I could easily get rid of it. But I'd like to know what this is, and where it came from. Very odd for this to show up. This is the only one I can see. I hope there are not any more in the tank.

madweazl October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 At least it's in the substrate so you can scoop it out and remove it with no chance of leaving bits behind.
treesprite October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 When I was first keeping a saltwater tank, a LFS said, "oh those are just cute mini anemones". I guess being such a noob that things die is not always a bad thing.
Origami October 23, 2016 Share October 23, 2016 Late to the party, but yea, it's Aiptasia. Scoop or siphon it out since it's in the sand. Keep an eye out for more elsewhere. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
