Just curious how many people have problems keeping specific types of creatures alive, but everything else seems fine?

I just spotted a dead emerald crab today in one of my tanks. I added 2 each to 2 separate tanks under 2 months ago and I'm pretty sure that dead one was the last remaining of the 4. I have probably bought 10-12 emeralds in the last year and they never seem to stay alive (and they certainly don't like bubble algae either).

Any reason for this? It's not predator related unless tiny clowns and chromis are capable of killing off crabs.

I don't have an answer to your question, but when you find something that does eat the bubble algae, lmk.

I have had 2 emeralds for about 5 months. The first time they molted I thought it was a dead crab. Could not believe how intact the shell looked.

Only once have I found a shell that was molted when I see a "dead crab". It's usually....dead.

The emeralds I've gotten from reefcleaners and qr have always eaten bubble algae...but buying them on the smaller size I feel like they live longer....

I can keep tons of sps and acro alive but cannot for the life of me keep a recordia alive and non of my acans are doing to good.

I can't keep peppermint shrimp, clams, possibly BTA's =X

Ok, maybe two things. Stupid Anemones....

I have trouble with Xenia also. My zoas don't look and do as good as they should but SPS does really well. I killed one of my 4 emerald crabs when I raised my Alk too fast or too high.

Previous tanks Anemone x2 and Chaulk Bass x3.....current tank, one anemone down, one duncan down.  Current duncan not doing so hot either.  If I kill 3 of anything I throw in the towel.....

I don't have problems with most things in my tank, but those dam Manta Rays always give me a problem and their stinkin tail makes deep scratch marks in my ceiling.
