Cliff Puckstable November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 After putting this off a few weeks. I got some motivation to work on it this week. Hopefully this is my last tank.. I repainted the stand and beefed it up with some 2x4's. I also redid the silicone because I wasn't happy with the way it looked. If this is my last tank, I want it to look pro. I'm going to change the blue paint to a black tint tomorrow followed by plumbing. I went with a Waveline DC6000 for my return. I will be using 6 wp-25's for flow. I have zero room behind the tank as it sits against the wall. 3' front to back takes up a lot of space in my tv room. The only thing I can think of is drilling the left side of the tank, but I don't think that will look good. Also I already cut and plumbed all the piping. Though I haven't glued anything yet. Its amazing how much room they take up I've seen people run PVC up to an internal overflow box and then either cover the PVC with rock (skewer style) or make it like a fake rock. I saw a guy on another forum remove one side of their overflow and use a seaswirl as a return. I was thinking of doing that, but decided not to. I don't think the corner overflows are as bad as the back overflows like on my 120g. Those seem to take up a lot of room. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cliff Puckstable November 25, 2013 Author Share November 25, 2013 I got the plumbing done this weekend. I got a little high off the fumes. Definitely do the gluing in a well ventilated area. It was someone difficult to complete when this little monster kept taking my plumbing pieces. He wont chew on this toys, but loves chewing on plastic. He chewed up a bunch of my composite shims. I tested to make sure nothing was leaking. Moved the tank to it's permanent home. I got some foam padding from my buddy Greenhornet to put under my sump. Are the spider webbing in the acrylic okay? I will be dosing 2 part under the stand, and will be contacting Avast soon for a reactor to run carbon. I keep things pretty simple. I will be building my canopy tomorrow. Cliff Puckstable November 29, 2013 Author Share November 29, 2013 I've been looking for some filter sock holders, but wasn't sure if any of them would work with my sum design. I had to improvise and I found some cheap universal car cup holders on ebay. I snapped off the bottom piece that holds the beverage up so the sock can slide through. It fits perfect for a 4" filter sock. It's a very cheap alternative for anyone looking for filter sock holders. I also ran the skimmer for a few minutes last night. It's so quiet, I love it.
