Gadgets April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 Figured I should put all these in one location. Some of these you have seen. Others are new. Enjoy! I'll keep updating this thread as I acquire new pieces.
kjamaya April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 How do you get the colors? I've read that some use photo shop to bring out the true colors...
trockafella April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 nice pics... Seeing this tank in person was a real treat. Very pretty and colorful, and extremely clean.

Spend money for high quality corals bro.. common less colourful corals is cheap so you see them being sold everywhere. Vivid colors are easy to get but cost drastically more.
Neto April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 Great corals & camera skills, do you mind sharing your settings, I am having lots of trouble taking shots with my Nikon 3100..

Vivid colors are easy to get but cost drastically more. I do have some high quality corals. However, when I take photos they don't come out the way they look in my tank. So I was trying to figure out what settings he uses or if he uses anything to enhance the colors.

ctenophore April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 How do you get the colors? I've read that some use photo shop to bring out the true colors... He uses a $6k camera rig and a decade of professional experience. Plus good husbandry on the corals so as to have healthy subjects. Nice pics, Chris. Are you going to come take some of the gig soon?
trockafella April 4, 2013 April 4, 2013 Chris has said it before and I will repeat it.. The camera only helps so much, the picture taking skills are the key. Chris is a top notch Professional photographer. Also the vivid colors do come from incredible tank husbandry as mentioned above. Anyone can buy the same corals, doesnt mean they will keep or ever get those colors in your tank.
Gadgets April 5, 2013 Author April 5, 2013 Thanks Everyone!!!! He uses a $6k camera rig and a decade of professional experience. Plus good husbandry on the corals so as to have healthy subjects. Its like putting a regular driver against a professional race car driver. No matter the car the pro will always win.
BowieReefer84 April 5, 2013 April 5, 2013 I remember helping move the old setup into the uhaul. Couldn't believe the colors on his corals in person. It was like "o wow, corals CAN look like that in person..." haha You can see they are not all edited with +500% saturation. They are just high quality corals taken by a high quality photographer.
trockafella April 6, 2013 April 6, 2013 You can see they are not all edited with +500% saturation. They are just high quality corals taken by a high quality photographer. Couldnt agree more, they look just like the pics, some even better.. I cant stand seeing pics that look amazing, show up to get it and looks nothing like the pic..
sachabballi reef April 7, 2013 April 7, 2013 The fact that you have two hobbies that you are incredibly successful at that can be blended together so seamlessly is such a rarity. Most are successful at either/or , but it's amazing to see both. I can't wait to see more! Do you have a FTS? I would love to know more about your system and methods . swimmatte April 8, 2013 April 8, 2013 Any chance you (or someone else) can provide names for these amazing pieces?
